VNN got a reaction from Boiler in How to qualify to bring my Thai Caretaker/Personal assistant to USA
I would suggest you to use one from US while you are in US.

It is not only that you are retired but also the amount of paperwork and $ involved.  Generally, there are things need to address
    - What skills she has that you cannot find one in US/what needs you need that only her can do.
    -  Getting a legal contract that pay rates is fair (should be similar to other US employees)
    - Waiting time to get approval from Department of Labor

You are authorized to work without work permit. My wife is waiting for an offer for a cost accountant position and she just came last week with her CR-1  we are still waiting for her social security.

There has been always a risk associated with not adjusting the status in timely manner.  Many do not take it too seriously because the chance of getting caught is slim and you, unluckily, just happen to be in this slim chance.

To have a good sleep, many  people in VJ advise to file as soon as possible as you never know you can be in bad situation.

I understand why you made your decision to delay.

To be fair, “internet” people do not give wrong information: you can file AOS any time as long as marriage happens within 90 days because out of status is forgiven/not a concern for the application itself. They just do not highlight the fact for “what if” you encounter a law enforcement officer when you are out of status.

I will say one is better than two:  good enough income to cover your case, less work for your relatives/you, less work for NVC people.

It is a UK company sending people temporarily to the US, sounds more like an L visa. Also, H1 visa requires qualifications which OP does not have.

VNN got a reaction from Almondmilk in CSPA Age Out After Interview
Regarding the A#, my wife got A# on her NOA2 and her interview letter. I do not think USCIS green card processing system is good one as I altered a few numbers and it still allowed us to enter the payment info. I would expect it just takes the money  as long as the numbers in the correct format.

CSPA is a simple calculation (enforcement may be another story) if you can post the details (priority date, when visa became current, when DS-260 was filed), VJ members should be able to give you some insights.

May or may not be accurate. Some got decision by the time posted would tell you it is, in fact, accurate. Some got decision unaligned would tell you: nah.

However, at least when the time comes, you can call them (which you might already do), and you can ask about its status but this time they will get less annoyed.

You still need to live your life and you probably have done all possible things - ignore it for awhile so you can have a little peace.

VNN got a reaction from luckytxn in How do you get married in HCMC: how long does it take and how much does it cost?
Only the beneficiary needs to have the medical exam done,  she can have her medical done without the petitioner. Normal medical exam result can be received within 3-7 business days, depending on how busy Cho Ray or IOM is.  There is no official expedite process in getting medical exam and 3-7 business, or even 10 business days, is not bad in my opinion Lawyer will not be able to help to expedite this. Will coffee money help expedite it?  You can try. Most of the people are refereed as "lawyers" in HCMC are not actually (immigration) lawyers/or normal lawyers but just normal persons who work for service companies.  These service companies provide some convenient ways such as How to organize the materials Analysis of the case and strategy to increase the chance of getting visa approved Guide people on their vaccinations and medical exams Cost ranges from $50 (just help organize the materials for the interview) to $300+ (full) Medical exam: $240 Vaccination: $60+ (depending on what types needed)

Do not think too hard. If it is 3 x word name, then do it as normal.  If it is 4 x word name and 2 of 4 are for middle name (very common for Vietnamese female), the order does not really matter for the middle name You can in fact omit the middle name.  My big family members tend to omit the middle name for this kind of stuff and we do not have any issue.
