William&Emily reacted to JFH in Denied Entry with ESTA, will it affect a future K1 application?
Don't take this the wrong way but I think you were rightfully refused. You're not working and clearly have no plans to get a job. You obviously haven't applied for any or you wouldn't be coming for 89 days in case you got called for interview or to start a job. So what do you have to go back to? And the maximum allowed stay on the first entry with no previous travel history? Not a smart move, as you have discovered. You immediately draw attention to yourself doing that. It's a classic case of "they saw you coming".
The good news is that this in itself won't have any effect on the K-1 process. There are dozens of other countries you can both travel to without the need for visas or pre-approvals where you can spend time together.

William&Emily reacted to SalishSea in Getting multiple K1's for the same girl?? (merged)
Jeez. This is the type of behavior that ruins the process for legit applicants.

I've been following this thread with interest since it began....now I'm biting my tongue as well.

William&Emily reacted to SalishSea in When to apply for Advanced Parole (I-131)
Where did you get this info? My husband arrived last October, we married six days later, and he received his combo card on 3/13/19. Even if you marry pretty much before the passport stamp ink is dry, you still have to wait for your legal marriage certificate to be recorded at the county, etc.
Not going to happen in 3 months with the way the timelines are currently, sorry.

William&Emily reacted to payxibka in When to apply for Advanced Parole (I-131)
In order to apply for a ssn you must be a legal alien allowed to work (which a k1 technically is) which should not be confused with the term legal "resident"

William&Emily reacted to Dashinka in AOS Employment?
Did you also file for the EAD card (I765)? If so, you cannot start working until you receive that card which I believe is taking 4-6 months or more at this time. Additionally, most states will not issue a DL until you have legal proof of presence in the US with either the EAD or GC. If you did not file for the EAD, then you will have to wait for the GC.
Good Luck!

William&Emily reacted to Meg101 in FEBRUARY 2019 I-129F FILERS
Hello fellow February 2019 filers 😀
I am a UK beneficary filed: 19/02/19
NOA1 received in the mail: 05/03/19
with a notice date of: 26/02/19.
My timeline is currently predicting the next step to be between June 26th and July 3rd. I have noticed it is decreasing as the weeks go by as it was originally late July-early August so that is encouraging. I sure hope everyone is keeping their timelines updated to help with the accuracy of this data! 👍🏽
So far I feel pretty calm while waiting, how is everyone else keeping busy and preparing for the next steps? 😁
I am due to go back to the US to see my fiancé next month for a 4 week trip for his birthday and to spend some time with my family members who live near him in WA. I’m a little biased but the Pacific Northwest is beautiful.
If there is anything I can be doing in preparation for the next steps, I would love to hear from anyone who has knowledge of this. I will of course do my own research too but I think writing on this post will help others who may ask the same question sometime soon too! Just trying to be proactive too. 👍🏽
This is officially my first ever forum post on here and also on any forum altogether!! Lol. So I hope I’m following forum etiquette. Please give me a gentle nudge admin if I’m not using this correctly. 🙊
Good luck wishes being sent to you guys! The very best is yet to come ♥️

William&Emily reacted to Wuozopo in Checking my interview check list :)
Your preparation needs to include reading the instructions from your consulate LONDON. It's not the same procedure in every country so preparing like somebody from Manila will confuse you.
Read here https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/
Find this part of the page
Your fee payment and courier arrangements are Step 4.
Also back at the top of the instruction page are links with more details to read. #5 Processing Times and Return of Passport explains courier delivery of your visa.

Thank you!
The ACRO I put in the list is the UK police certificate so I have that covered already Thanks again though! I just like being over prepared haha

Your fiancé will need a police report from every country (s)he lived in more than 6 months since turning 16 (just to show that there's no criminal record OR if you have one you should bring all court documents etc), but usually the embassy requires it not to be older than x amount of time, so don't rush into that.
Since you're still waiting for NOA2, I wouldn't spend too much time on this yet. Once you get your NOA2 you have at least another 2-3+ months before the interview (NVC usually takes a few weeks, and than it usually takes a few weeks to plan the interview), so you'll have more than enough time to gather everything you need.
I know the American consulate in the Netherlands sends a checklist with everything you need to bring to the interview, I would assume London would do something similar. So for now, just slowly gather some extra proof of relationship and get the rest done once you're actually closer to the interview.

William&Emily reacted to J.Z.Lefort in FEBRUARY 2019 I-129F FILERS
Haha thanks buddy wasn’t so much a case of being annoyed more so impatient! HOWEVER just found out our NOA 1 arrived in the mail today backdated to 2/28! Yay😌. I know a year is nothing in the grand scheme of a lifetime.. I guess the cold crappy wet weather,a lovely arthritis flare and missing my fiancé were enough to get me frustrated ha🙈🙈

William&Emily reacted to debbiedoo in I-129F - Handwritten or typed
ditto that. some fields wouldnt save/print correctly, so i hand wrote those in.use black ink and make sure its legible.
-
William&Emily reacted to met in I-129F - Handwritten or typed
on the front page of the form it states - "type or print in black ink" i.e. type on a computer like devise or print by hand in block letter (using black obviously)
-
William&Emily reacted to AUS18B in I-129F - Handwritten or typed
As long as it's legible it is acceptable. I personally just typed out most of it and used a black pen to fill in bits that the form wouldn't allow me to type (things like 'present' for work history end date). I think typing is a safer option just in case they can't read something you've hand written.

William&Emily reacted to rocks in Wife did not make it past homeland and got k-1 cancelled
I was taken into a room and made to wait for a long time. I was asked a few questions about when I would get married etc, I don't remember there being any questions about what my husbands house looked like though? I suppose we will have to wait for her to reach her home country before we can find out.

William&Emily reacted to Penguin_ie in Using an ESTA/Tourist visa to marry
**** Mod note: J does not advice, condone, assist with etc illegal immigration into the USA. This is not just illegal and visa (or ESTA) fraud, it can also lead to a lifetime ban from the USA for the foreigner. Do not do this. The discussion of using ESTSA with the intent of immigrating to the USA stops here. ******
-
William&Emily reacted to MacUK in Using an ESTA/Tourist visa to marry
Unfortunately though the OP presumably isn't in the U.S. right now so this is not an option and would be fraud.

William&Emily reacted to NikLR in Withdrawal retraction
Just because you are hearing something other than what you want to hear doesnt mean people don't support you or want to help.
You withdrew your initial support of the I-129F. You can't cancel that withdrawal of support. It really is in your relationship, self, and fiance's best interest to make sure the current I-129F is fully cancelled and to start over. While this isn't what you want to do, it will save any heartache later and ensure a smoother process overall. You can obviously continue on your current course if you choose. If so I suggest asking a mod to close this thread so that do not continue to get advice you don't want to hear.
I suggest rereading the TOS again as well.

William&Emily reacted to Diane and Chris in Attorney vs Not?
We used an attorney for K-1. Biggest mistake and waste of money!! We got an RFE (request for evidence) for a small thing that the attorney definitely should have caught. We had to handle the RFE and then did the rest of the process ourselves with no problems. We got all of our questions answered here from some very knowledgeable individuals. We did our own AOS paperwork with no RFEs. You can do it yourself and we encourage you to do so. Thanks everyone for helping us along the way!
