Ayrton got a reaction from Nikol993 in How to get a social security when AOS is processing?
No need to wait. I arrived on a Saturday and applied for SSN on Monday. I received my card after 3 weeks.

The marriage certificate is your name change document. If you will get married in a state that requires you to put your new last name on the marriage license, you shouldn't be using your maiden name after getting married.

So always apply for SSN first. I'm pretty sure the offices will be open by the time you get herez at least by appointment.

Yesterday I received the 2 NOA letters for EAD and AP renewal. People say that case numbers starting with IOE are processed faster. Let's see what happens.

That's correct. The G-1145 explicitly says to put it on top of the application package and you will get a text for every form in the package.

About the fees, unfortunately, even though the AOS fee is gonna be reduced, the total fees are going to be higher than 2k, because of the fee of 765 and 131 that won't be waived anymore.

All my USCIS emails went straight to the junk folder.

For all my applications, I received both text and email.

First. Your husband arrived with a K1, you guys got married but he didn't file for AOS. Remember, it's his AOS, not yours. You're his sponsor.

Since your K1 is done and he moved, there's nothing to cancel. The visa was issued.

Since he didn't file for AOS, there's no application pending, so there's nothing to cancel.

The only thing you can and should do is file for divorce. Nothing else.

The update about the fingerprints means they reused your biometrics from an older biometrics appointment. Because of covid, ASCs were closed and they were reusing biometrics.

You need to read the instructions and the form to be able to calculate your household size. You keep asking if your brother is included in the household size.

You need to send what you want them to see. Overthinking and sending more than what's absolutely necessary won't help your case.

I first received the SMS for the 131. 15 minutes later I received the SMS for the 765. The weird thing is that the 765 case number ends with 92 and the 131 ends with 93. So I should've received the 765 first.

Anyway, I'm just waiting for the NOA in the mail now.

Yes, each household member needs a 864a.

Why don't you use your Dad as joint sponsor instead? You fill out a 864 for him and a 864a for you mom. That's usually what most people do.

Your household remains 2 on your 864 and your dad will have a household of 4, including your brother and your spouse.

If you're using your mom as household member, yes, it would be 4.

I'll say again. Try to get the Tax Return Transcript. You can easily get it online and it proves you filed.  It's only 5 pages compared to the tax return itself that can get to 50 pages easily. If you can't get online, request it by mail. And only send the latest year (2019).

And get employment letters and paystubs for your dad and mom.

Ayrton got a reaction from s11 in Medical before interview or if they ask in the interview?
If the vaccination was marked completed, you don't need a new medical.

The foreign medical remains valid as long as you FILE for AOS within 1 year of the date of the medical.

The only thing you would need to do in the US is update your vaccination if it wasn't completed overseas.

Sometimes the officer working on the case sends the 693 letter by mistake because they didn't pay attention it was a K1 or because USCIS still didn't receive your foreign medical documents. That doesn't mean you need a new medical.

If your vaccination sheet was marked completed, and you filed for AOS within 1 year = no need for a new medical. You can always print a copy of the 693 instructions to show the officer in case they ask for a medical at the interview.

What I tried to say is that a lawyer is not needed at all. Even if you didn't change the name with the marriage, like in NY for example.

You just need to go to court, wait for the judge to approve it, and then use the court order to change the name everywhere.

I would send the renewal forms even with a scheduled interview. There's no guarantee that someone will get the green card after the interview. I've seen people waiting for months after the interview with no response.
    Yes.

    1. Yes, just send both forms.
    2. No fees. It's still free. Just send your NOA 1 from AOS.
    3. You can apply for renewal 180 days before it expires. And the letter will extend it for another 180. The NOA and the old card is enough to prove you're authorized to work.

They need to make sure you're really the person sending the application. If someone wanted to get a fake green card to someone else, they would just send a fake picture and signature, have their interview waived somehow and that's it.

They can't use the fingerprint from POE. The picture needs to be a certain way as well.

So it does make sense to have it taken at a ASC.

VJ has people with all kind os visas and AOS.

The foreign medical done by a K1 applicant is only valid for 1 year.

The medical done inside of the US is valid for 2 years and can't be more than 60 days older from the filing date of the I-130.
