AshleyHope0618 reacted to SalishSea in Embassy london
No one is "owed" anything when it comes to US immigration. USCs have the right to petition fiances, spouses and other relatives for visas. There are no guarantees in terms of when or whether you will get one.

I do understand your frustration and disappointment, I really do. But the pandemic is beyond anyone's control unfortunately, even the government's. There's nothing else to do but to wait. There are countless couples just like me and you who are in a similar situation and who haven't seen their loved one in a long time. We are all in the same boat.

They don’t know. They too are wondering when they can return to work.
Yeah, but your life would suck living in the shadows without a proper job with benefits, a drivers license, decent health insurance, social security/Medicare when you get old.
Your attitude is appalling really.

And once you make it to London, manage to get city transport to the embassy, and get the visa—-how difficult will it be to fly to the US? Are K1s eligible because they are not immediate family? What about the ban from entering if you have been in the UK? I’ve lost track of all the roadblocks; there are so many. Hopefully things will be a little more open by July to make it a bit easier on you.

There are 6 posts from within the last 24 hours. I said it was a saga, so If you want background on who these people are and when they got cancelled and when they got in to make new appointments and info they have received from the embassy then skim through it and add on your dates and experiences.

You don’t need to contact anybody. Positive about that.
See the K1 pages on the embassy website https://uk.usembassy.gov/visas/fiancee-2/applying-for-the-visa/
In the Required Documents you will find
Petition Affirmation Letter (if applicable)
If your petition expires before the visa interview takes place, you are required to bring to your interview a signed letter from your petitioner confirming that you both remain legally free to marry and that you will marry within 90 days of your arrival in the United States
If you start reading through the FAQ pages linked on the right, you will find
I am applying for a K-1 visa, I have heard that I need a letter from my fiancé(e) to reaffirm the petition, what is this?
If the visa interview is scheduled more than 4 months from the date the petition is approved, the applicant is required to provide an original letter from the petitioner, confirming that they both remain legally free to marry and that they intend to do so within 90 days of the applicant’s entry to the United States. There is no requirement that the letter be notarized.

AshleyHope0618 reacted to Wuozopo in A-number on I-134?
That is the A-number.
I think the “London likes...” part is an old story going back to 2008/2009. I remember the guy and when he posted it. His interviewer said it should be marked so he posted a big warning in this forum. It was a one-off situation but got handed down. I would put that in the London myth category. My personal observation is just about anything you put is going to be fine. I don’t think it is ever an issue in London. Nobody in this forum as talked about it for years. They barely look at the form and require little in the proof of income. Put anything that sounds good to you. Not a deal breaker question.
Back when this question 38 was question 11, there was a line right beside it to write N/A or a few words. Now you have to explain on the extra pages so not choosing either makes it look like you forgot a question.
In my mind what you have put in bold is two answers—
—N/A means you aren’t choosing either answer because it’s not applicable to a K1visa
—Choosing Intend says to indicate the exact nature and duration of the contributions you intend to provide... so the vague list instead of the specifics they ask for.
Neither way exactly addresses a K1, but you’re going to find many more situations that don’t exactly fit a K1 when your fiance gets to the US. Don’t lose sleep over this question. Not that important.

Thanks the link, definitely bookmarking it. Even though it's expensive, I think it's worth it occasionally for a little treat to feel like home.

I fell in love with the prawn cocktail crisps when I went to visit my SO. They are incredibly hard to find in the US but if you dont mind paying the price, you can check out this place. They have a load of different items but they do come with a heavy cost and they regularly sell out of things very quickly. I am sure this will be one place we will order from once he gets here, just for those things that he cant find a substitute for.

Does not matter at all. But do find it funny that he has to pay you back. You are getting married!

I understand that I have to provide information on what my currently income is as well as all the other stuff, I was just trying to have a better grasp of which number I should be putting in the box on the 134 for annual income. Should it be what my W2 stated for the 2019 year, or should it be my current weekly amount x 52 weeks(estimated)? That is what I am trying to figure out lol.
