This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case onwards to your Embassy.  Contained in the PDF below are many tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way outlining what steps you can be taking along the way.

These are items that everyone asks for, so I thought I just post a PDF of them here for you to refer to when it's necessary.

@Greenbaum do you by chance have the P3 for the Mumbai India embassy?

I sure do.

Here is the letter that you will receive from Mumbai Embassy. Read it over carefully and follow the instructions. Another member of VJ added some additional information contained below which outlines what he experienced.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xukUjdqnKM7yqrkqfPfl8tCao_BY2XsC/view?usp=sharing
https://photos.state.gov/libraries/mumbai/1057584/senkx/BMB%20IV%20Packet%204%20for%20Ks%20January%202015%20Revision_001.pdf

Once you received your case number from NVC,  I would recommend you fill out the DS-160 form and submit. Some say the packet 3 letter is nothing just a waste of time the same thing they have mention which you easily get from the USCIS website when you called the clinics to book your medical appointment date they will ask you have you received your packet letter or not. Just say yes and booked the appointment date however you will receive that letter within 2 weeks the day you will get your NVC number.

Go on the USCIS website make your account with a password and then pay your fees to Citibank or Axis bank. They will give you a reference number. With that number, you can book your biometric and interview appointment date. The fees are 18,500 and for medical but I recommend that you carry 20,000 with you in the event you need more. Be sure to keep at least 7 days gap between medical and interview.

The website address for Hyderabad is

https://www.migrationmedicine.com/ just in case if someone needs

Here is a topic in another forum where those from the Mumbai Consulate are applying with good information.

https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/331403-mumbai-consulate-k1-visa-221g-given/

And

https://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/684938-india-processing-2018-noa2-nvc/?page=1

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you, I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Received NOA2 Dec 11.

Called NVC right at 7 this morning and after being on hold for 30 min...we got our case number! I’ll be doing the DS160 this weekend.  @Greenbaum Any chance you might have P3 for Montreal, Canada? Thank you inadvance!

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on ceac change to ready two times. Second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterwards.

Packet 3: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/07/Packet3Instructions-K1.pdf  And Packet 4 for reference also: https://ca.usembassy.gov/wp-content/uploads/sites/27/2016/03/Packet4-MTL.pdf

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1aa5iWVtFniXGWavXN0zs-94dewD2Fdfy/view?usp=sharing

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parents name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet sized one with parents names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents travelling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with format. Hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.

Also there is a discussion about the new requirements for PC and fingerprints found here

I received my NOA2 with the notice dated as 01/02/2020. Does anyone know why my priority date is blank? is that common ? Also the validity of the notice ranges from 01/02/2020 to 05/01/2020, what is that mean?

As for  validity of the notice, it is my understanding that during that specific period i.e. from  01/02/2020 to 05/01/2020 consular procedure should be started by fiance in his/her domicile country.
Certainly, first he/she needs to receive P3 letter from embassy.

If I am wrong could someone please step up

Thank you, Greenbaum, for creating this thread and posting this. I searched the different forums for Mexico and I do not seem to find the P3 for Mexico. Do you happen to have readily available? I would certainly appreciate it. I already got your PDF with instructions, which is amazing! Thank you for all you do for us.

Keep in mind that a forum like this one is for initial bonding with others who are along the same timeline as you for initial processing. The initial application is the same no matter where in the world you are. But, having said that, once you get your approval (NOA2 text message or email), you should also check in with your country's sub-forum to get a better understanding of the process for the Embassy that you will be interviewing with, and to get direct answers from those who have completed the steps you are about to at the US Embassy - Juarez Mexico.

Link: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/96-mexico-latin-south-america/

Get the Juarez K1 Embassy instructions at http://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/K1/CDJ%20-%20Ciudad%20Juarez.pdf (Spanish) https://drive.google.com/file/d/1cBWgGJr4a5ay3b4OV28_dC3pgf63ZUr-/view?usp=sharing (English) as this is your bible needed to complete and receive your visa. The required documents are included and use this website as a checklist. Once you have completed or gathered the required documents you'll be ready for your interview.

Last but not least, READ the pages on the US Embassy website for you country so that you are up to speed.

A fiancé visa must be issued within four months from the date of approval of the fiancé petition by U8CIS (U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services). If your appointment is later, bring a signed and dated letter from your U.S. fiancé(e) stating that you both remain legally free to marry and that you intend to get married within 90 days of your arrival. The signature must be original; emails or copies are unacceptable.

9 FAM 41.81 N6.2 Validity of a K-1 Petition

(CT:VISA-2165; 08-21-2014)

An approved K-1 visa petition is valid for a period of four months from the date of USCIS action and may be revalidated by the consular officer any number of times for additional periods of four months from the date of revalidation, provided the officer concludes that the petitioner and the beneficiary remain legally free to marry and continue to intend to marry each other within 90 days after the beneficiary's admission into the United States.

My Petition Expired – Can It Be Extended?

The I-129F petition is valid for four months from the date of approval by USCIS. A consular officer can extend the validity of the petition if it expires before visa processing is completed.

@Greenbaum Thank you so much! This is very helpful. I will share my findings as I get them. To clarify, is the outlined process below sound right to you? Trying to piece together what I've read from the pdfs and threads:

1. Get case number from NVC

2. File DS-160 form

3. NVC sends embassy case file and sends instructions to schedule interview (how does embassy/NVC know which address or email to send this to? We've submitted the email address update to AskNVC but understand that's 50/50 on if they update?)

4. Pay visa fee -  Do you need to receive P3 before paying fee? Can you proceed if you filed out DS-160 but haven't heard from embassy yet?

5. Schedule biometrics and interview appointments

6. Complete medical

7. Prep for interview

Well, let's see, I gave you the link to the P3 with the instructions. Please read and see what it says. I can't be up to date on hundreds of embassies in what each does. I can only submit links or official communication as to what to do. The rest is up to you. For further help you should now be in your sub-forum and out of this thread.

5. Schedule bio-metrics and interview appointments

6. Complete medical

7. Prep for interview
