Welcome I know that you are excited, having just received your K-1 NOA2!!! This thread was created for those of you who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1, case assignment from NVC and then onward to your Embassy.  The .pdf contained in the link below was meticulously authored by our beloved @Greenbaum and contains many tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way in what steps you might chose to take along the way.

Glad to have you. Download the PDF file on the first post. Great set of tips, tricks and hacks for this stage you are in. These are things that will help you to understand and know where your file is in the process; as best that one can.

 

Also, a little housekeeping is in order please. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

 

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

 

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

 

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Did you get your NOA2 your time line was not clear and or filled in. In either case congratulations, I'll  assume you are approved. Please download the .pdf file and send off that email to NVC.

Yep just checked the website and it said approved. Also called to verify! Just updated my timeline

Thank you so much for sharing this information. 

I have a few quick questions. 

First is about emailing the NVC to update your email address referenced in the pdf above.  The link in the document attached brings you to a form to "Ask the NVC a Question" and there is no field for the beneficiaries email address.  Is the "question" asking to update email address? Or to ask for a case number? How soon should this be done after the NOA2 is received?

Secondly, do you know how soon interviews can be scheduled at the UK Embassy? Is it after the case number is assigned or does the Embassy let you know when they are ready for you to schedule?

Each embassy is different in how they go about the interview/medical process for their embassy. You should go to the London sub-forum here on VJ;. There are experts over in the sub-forum for your country located here http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/  This is where others from your country who are processing or those who have completed their interview and they can guide you on their experience. A TON of information and help there.

The current date for the PDF is 12/05/2019 and within the PDF you will find the below instructions for updating your email. In red is the instruction that answers your question.

 

1. How do I update my email address with NVC: Once you receive your NOA2 approval then contact NVC via https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/ask-nvc.html to update your email address as well as your beneficiary's email address. This will give you an email alert when your file arrives at NVC, your case is assigned and when the file leaves for your Embassy. Enter the petitioner's information as well as the beneficiary's in the "empty box". Full name, Date of Birth, (use DD/MONTH/YYYY, i.e., 08/April/2019 for the DOB field) NOA2 receipt number and WAC number. We have found in some cases that emails are never sent and in other cases this works well. So, your mileage may vary.
