This thread was created for those who are waiting for their NOA2 K-1 case assignment from NVC and then tracking your case on wards to your Embassy.  Contained in the PDF below are many tips, tricks and hacks to help you along the way.

Thank you @Greenbaum I already downloaded the PDF.  Can i update my details with the nvc as the beneficiary or is my petitioner the only one permitted to do so?  Please i will really appreciate if you can share packet 3 for Nigeria with me if you have it.

Yes you can update with NVC but I would wait till the file arrives or is on its way. About 25 days.

 

 

Scheduling the interview can take 1 to 3 months. Once you pay the $265 visa fee at GTB Bank, you can go online to schedule an appointment at www.ustraveldocs.com You can get the forms online at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html No need to go to the consulate to pick up forms. Download forms if unexpired or get current versions of same forms. Email LagosIV@state.gov for your interview date.

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on CEAC change to ready two times. The second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterward.

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parent's name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet-sized one with parents' names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents traveling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with the format. I hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long-form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

 

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

 

Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.

I may join this group too. I got my approval the 31st of January so I classified our case a Feb K1-NOA2. Today, 5/02/20, we have gotten the Approval Notice of Action.

@Greenbaum Hello! I was following the steps reported in the pdf document. I would like to sign up for email from NVC but the link prompts me to a page where I am supposed to make an enquiry. 

What should I enquiry about if I just want to receive email notifications?

 

Moreover, may I have the Packet 3 for Italians?

As the PDF instructions state you complete the form and you add the Petitioner and the beneficiary information in the blank box. This form was intended for something else but this hack works.

 

• If you haven't already here is some reading that can be done and with that some prep work you can be doing while you are waiting. Once you have received your P3 letter on what to do if you would be so kind as to send me a copy via VJ PM I use it for those who come behind you and currently have no information from Italy. Yes you should have. Did you see the P3. I had trouble on my phone to copy and paste so I had to open my tablet computer to finish the reply.
