We have a staff of 3600. Everyone was required to have the vaccine prior to a scheduled day off to prevent a logistical nightmare. The first round was relatively trivial and very few people had to miss any additional time. Personally, I am glad I had the next day off, and I did have minor side effects for a few days. I am actually not looking forward to the second dose now, as I've heard the side effects tend to be worse with that one.

My job is giving everyone an appointment to get it with specific dates and times over a two week period (Dec 28 - Jan 4.) I'm not sure what they plan to do about people who are out with side effects.

Getting the Moderna vaccine either next week or the week after (I'm a healthcare worker.) I should be fully vaccinated by the first week of February. I'm so happy that travel is within my reach again.

A moderator needs to lock this thread. Way too much misinformation being spread, speculation, and politically charged statements. I would hate for someone to make plans or big life changes based on future assumptions.

The initial comment made towards someone being from a “red state” in my opinion should result in a ban of that individual from this website. There is 0 place for that here.

As a reminder, just because a politician says one thing doesn’t imply it will come to fruition. A lot has changed in the world since Biden was VP and he also wasn’t in charge. His policies/approach may be different this time around.

For sure! I am going to copy what I posted on the facebook K1/Spouse visa group and paste it here to explain how my experience went.

We cannot go into the building until our designated appointment time and a security called us by name. He asked basic COVID questions (have you travelled outside of Canada last 14 days, do you have any symptoms etc.)
Once you’re through you go through X-ray scanning and leave behind any electronics in a locker they provide for you with a key.
Went up to my first window and I was asked for the same documents!
-Proof of payment for the fee
    -Passport and photocopy
    -birth certificate and photocopy
    - I-134 and any supporting documents (I had tax transcripts, w-2 and PSMC)
    -police certificates
    -letter of intent
-the medical (if you have physical version)
    - and two 2x2 photos!
Oh and did fingerprinting scans as well! Because I had a physical medical I got to keep the xtra scans CD with me. Oh, they did ask if this was my first marriage for either of us.
Then I was asked to sit down and they will call you by your name for the interview section. By this point I saw maybe 5 other people there at the time. I got called to a very nice lady who simply had me take an oath that everything and anything I gave them or state is true. Then I signed it with my fingerprint scans. She reiterated again if this was my first marriage as they had to make sure to give us pamphlets about domestic abuse and such. Then she asked me how we met, and what my fiancé does for a living and if I’ve ever been arrested or gotten in to trouble anywhere at all.
I was not asked for any proof of relationship, or any photos or proof of continued relationship. However I had it all ready if they were to ask me.

Received my pink slip and instructions on how to check the status of my passport being mailed back to my designated Canada post office!
    ======
Hope that helps! and good luck to your partner!

The P4 asks for a "copy of US petitioner's status in the USA". This can be proven with either the birth certificate or the passport, as both indicate citizenship.

FYI, I had copies of both and wasn't asked for either one, nor for proof of domicile.

You can't hurry it along at all. You must wait till you see your date on CEAC change to ready two times. The second change you can send in your P3. A copy of the P3 is linked below. Comply with what they ask for in P3 (the actual one they send you) by sending them a copy of the signed P3 checklist, your DS-160 confirmation and your Passport Bio. Then they send you P4. Then they tell you to register to schedule and you'll wait some more for interviews to open up, which only happens once a month during the last week of the month for two months ahead UNLESS you are lucky and you scoop up a cancellation. Get your medical appointment first so you can schedule the interview shortly afterward.

For all things dealing with the US Consulate in Canada head on over to the sub-forum for Canada where they will answer your questions for the processing of your visa from their personal experience. Link:

Birth Certificate and Police Certificate information

Here is some additional information. As was stated in the Canadian sub-forum there is an "emergency order" application in Ontario. You need the birth cert that is CERTIFIED COPY OF BIRTH REGISTRATION that has the parent's name. You don't want the "parental cert" that is a wallet-sized one with parents' names but no place of birth, doctors who attended birth etc. The parental one is for parents traveling with kids to prove custody in an easy to use/travel with the format. I hope this clears up your question. CALL the registrar and tell them you need to do an emergency application otherwise you will be waiting 15+ weeks. Absolutely the long-form is a required LIVE document needed at the interview or you'll get rejected.  I hope this info is helpful and best of luck.

In case you're doing the medical in Vancouver: Dr. Cheema requires you to schedule the interview first in order to book the medical.

Routine vaccinations such as MMR, Tetanus, Flu Shots, etc are offered free of charge in the province of Ontario. Patients can walk into any health care clinical or family physician office and receive these immunizations for free.  it would be better to go and get your vaccinations free of charge rather than pay any additional fees at these the medical exams.

Also, there is a discussion about the new requirements for PC and fingerprints found here

If you find anything not up to date or the information is wrong, please share your findings. Please compare the date of the P3 of mine with the date from your copy, once you receive yours from your embassy. Keep in mind that I try and be factual with my information, but I can't do it on my own and that's where you come in and can give back to the community those who come behind you. Without others ahead of you I would not be able to provide this to you.  I can only share factual information if folks like you continue to be my eyes and ears for your embassy. I wish you much success in your visa journey.

Sunny_Skies got a reaction from Ben and Jen in waiting another 6 months to see fiance
I know exactly how this feels. My fiancé and I were together for 2 1/2 years BEFORE we ever met for the first time. That is significantly longer than it takes for most couples. We also had to wait until we were together for almost 5 to do the paperwork. The long distance doesn't bother me quite as much as it does others because I really don't know anything else. But I get it. It IS hard. The only reason I took my job was so I could make enough of money to support him and get a place to live close to where I work. The job is awful and I despise it, and I despise living so close to people I grew up with. But I can't leave and start my life over somewhere else until he is here because a) I need another income and b) I don't want to spend money on going back to school/moving when it could pay for immigration. This has caused many arguments between us and made me resent the long distance. But I hang on knowing that in time, we can things better for both of us. There will be a time when you look back on this period and it is nothing but a memory that doesn't matter

Sounds more like an adjustment problem from both of you.
You both should have been aware of these things were going to happen when you got here.
I came on a K-1 also I knew this was going to happen so I was prepared for it. Now I still had a very hard time adjusting here because everything is s different from my home country and it took almost a year before I (and my son) was more into everything here and felt more comfortable.
You really have to communicate well with your spouse about your feelings and he about his to make this work. Things will change when you get your EAD and can drive and work and be more independent.

Yes, cancel the divorce, and be prepared to explain why you two aren't living together. The issues you were dealing with are very common with the K-1, and easy to learn about by simply Googling the process. I think you both let the downsides of the K-1 get to you too much and didn't think enough about the interview and what lies ahead. If you had at least waited until the interview to live apart, you'd be in better shape.

I check in pretty much daily for the past 2 years, I read, I try to educate myself.  This case is becoming typical,  K1,  marriage, divorce. or separation.   Most times, I think, is not a fraudulent plan, but 2 people falling in love on line, meeting, and then filing, getting married, and all hell breaks loose, where they can't seem to actually live together as husband and wife.  Arguments on money mostly.  They fail to recall what it was that they fell in love with in the first place.  They forget that part of "Till death do us part"..   I feel sorry for those who try and fail, and encouraged by those to try and succeed.   For those men out there, all I have to say is "A Happy Wife is a Happy Life!".. for those who can not comprehend with your own egos,.  Best of luck.  There are differences in culture for sure, learn and be strong.  I actually enjoy Rice, Fish, Egg for breakfast!  I love a partnership, which is what marriage is to be.  For those who fall in love on line,  deal with it and make it grow once it is not on line, but in person.
