In my experience, the original Coronavirus thread was the first ever in CEHST to have to be closed for size.  NB really started a winner when he birthed it!

And yet one of the most complex vexing issues mankind has faced in years needs to be rolled into one thread.

Certainly better than having zillions of individual threads about single aspects of it.

 

Further to previous post:  The monthly K-1 & CR-1 Case Progress threads eventually reach size, as does the VAWA thread in the Effects forum, and as occasionally does a country thread in the Regional forums. In something like 13 years here, I don't remember one in CEHST (or, before CEHST existed, a political thread in Off Topic) that reached size.

Certainly if one thinks this disease is alarmist nonsense, the scope is considerably narrowed.

I remember some forums limiting thread sizes years ago because of performance related issues from threads getting too large, I didn't know that was still a thing.

Focusing on new cases per 100k over the last 7 days we can visualize how dramatic this disease is affecting the center of the country. Utah and North Dakota are close to breaking capacity with a state of emergency in Utah and Gov Burgum allowing nurses testing positive to care for covid-19 patients.

(CNN)Wearing a mask can help protect you, not just those around you, from coronavirus transmission, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said in new guidance Tuesday. The statement was an update to previous guidance suggesting the main benefit of mask wearing was to help prevent infected people from spreading the virus to others.

Cloth masks act as "source control" to block virus particles exhaled by the wearer and provide "filtration for personal protection" by blocking incoming infectious droplets from others, the CDC said in its new guidance.

Washington state phase 1  heavy restrictions, phase 4 business as usual....so yes , Calif has it upside down. BC , OR, WA, AK have voted on the taxonomy, time to get with our program

Believe the Scottish version is the same as CA though so we are consistent at home, which really is the most important thing for marital harmony.

It's been kind of a moving target, what with various server upgrades, et al.

The last guidance was to close threads after 200 pages or (I forget how many) page hits.

But regardless, you're all part of history to have this happen in CEHST.
