NO, it is not a red flag in an arranged marriage in India.  It is NORMAL.  It would be strange if he DIDN'T marry on the first visit.  Context matters.

Also good luck with your case but no point helping someone who rejects every piece of advice people try to give him. You seem to be 100% sure you're right anyway.

Bloody sheets, that's hysterical.  I love the dedication, but I take it it's still rather secondary evidence. I mean, who's to say it's maiden blood (I've bloodied sheets before ), or hers to begin with...

Concepts of shame and embarrassment surrounding sexuality and nudity are as diverse as the cultures on this forum. I have no shame sending pictures like that to strangers, nor am I embarrassed about my own body. I don't see how these kind of pictures would be any different than a picture of us in swimwear at the beach with family. I find this whole body shaming rather distasteful.

Of course that was meant to offend..otherwise you would have not called out all MENA men and called them Macho Men. And, by the way, I am offended. There is a six year age difference between my Macho Man and I......me being older. We are both in our 40's. He is intelligent and kind and generous and magnificent in every way  (and, by the way, he's cooking supper right now). So, before you make sweeping generalizations about someone from a specific region of the world......how about you go ahead and remember.......people are people......good and bad, honest and dishonest, loyal and disloyal, perfect and flawed.....but in general....people are just people. We fall in love and try to make the best of it.

I don’t know about that but I’m bringing a copy just to be safe. If you are generally environmentally conscious I think it’s okay to use a tree for something as important as this.

AtlToBlr reacted to TabeaK in How soon did you find your first job?
That is something very personal to the couple - I (the immigrant) would have been very upset if my husband had that attitude. I have lived independently my entire life, spent years gaining advanced degrees to further my career, always made my own money and have a passion for what I do. So one of my first priorities was getting a job in my field. Otherwise I don't think I could have settled here. Took me about 3 months of full time job searching (started about 2 months before the EAD arrived).

Hey, I see your point as well. But we can't deny that people do come here and decide after coming here as well.
And that was my point. Its always preferred that someone goes the legal route. But coming here on a temporary visa and adjusting isn't *illegal* per say because adjusting is a legal process. It sucks that people have to go the long route, but every person is different and every situation is different...and therefore I don't think you and I should be passing judgment like that.

just my 2 cents, not trying to start any trouble

I'm going to start suggesting nobody try to ever enter on a valid visa. Or to even apply for a US visa. That way they can never get banned.
Now where's my big-time lawyer bucks?

Race & color have the same bearing on entry as shirt color and height. There's always a reason an officer can find to deny entry.

Don't listen to fearmongers. Read the rules and instructions on the USCIS website and their policy manuals. Follow them, prepare your documents properly and you should be fine.
The USCIS rules and policies make it very clear that you CAN and should apply for AOS if you are in the US legally.
Actually the entire purpose of the AOS process is to allow  qualifying non-immigrant visitors to adjust their statuses as immigrants. Becoming an immediate family member of a US citizen is a qualifying event. The more you read and educate yourself about the laws, regulations, and policies regarding this process the less prone you will be to the fear tactics that some people use here.

Linked case #1above:  " Nuñez has called the U.S. home since 2001, when he entered without inspection. In 2010, he traveled back to Mexico after finding out his mother had fallen ill. When he returned to the U.S. in August, he received an expedited order of removal at the border and was sent back to Mexico. A few months later, he re-entered the U.S. without inspection. Because of this, ICE has reinstated his prior order of expedited removal. "

Linked case #2 above:  " Immigration authorities previous issued an order of exclusion to Morales when he attempted to enter the U.S. in 1997. Morales then reentered the U.S. in 1998, and has remained here since that time. According to ICE, Morales had committed a felony under federal law that carries a sentence of 20 years in prison because he reentered the U.S. after being removed. "

Linked case #3 above: " His client, a Brazilian national who had been ordered deported before she married a U.S. citizen, understood the risks as well, but ultimately decided that she wanted to keep the appointment and begin the green card process.

All these people had defied deportation orders...these were not AOS interviews after lawful inspection.
