tax returns for interview

During interview you are speaking to an official. Be serious and just print the copy. They are not your friends whom you will show something interesting on a kindle or tablet. I don’t remember USCIS accepting electronic evidence for any party of immigration processing. It’s a government involving process and what they want is a hard copy of everything.

I’m not criticizing and I hate how much paper I hade to waste with them myself.

Does anyone know whether it's OK to bring your tax returns as PDF on e.g. a Kindle, to the interview ?   They're not going to keep them, and I'd hate to murder a tree just for this purpose.

Take a paper copy of your tax returns......you can save that tree by taking your own cup to Starbucks.....which is exactly what my wife and I do.....

How do you know for sure your IO won't keep them?

Yes, some don't even look at them.

There are others, however, that do and add the paper copy to their file.

While I admire your need to be environmentally-conscious, I think in a case such as naturalization interviews, Mother Nature will understand.

Definitely print them. As others have said, it's a federal agent you're talking to. I don't think they'll take too kindly to an electronic device being taken out because well, how do they know you aren't some spy recording with it somehow or transmitting information to somewhere else? Not criticizing or anything either. When you think about it, they don't even allow us to submit applications electronically yet anyways so they're still very reliant on paper forms. There's a good chance they might keep it or make a copy of it anyhow.

Is this a real question or a joke? How do you think you will give him a copy if he wanted to keep during the interview? Just email him?

What I post here is merely my personal opinion and not a valid legal advice and should not be viewed as such.

I applied online and was not asked to supply tax returns or to take them to interview, I took them anyway but wasn't asked to see them. If they are asking for them on your letter, supply them. If they are not, do not. But maybe just print last years for good measure just incase, follow the guidelines in your letter to the tee. Some are applied with 3 year rule or 5 year rule etc, it may be different. You should only do what your letter states.

Nice Joke.

You can bring USB Flash Drive instead.

Another joke, don’t take it seriously.

If you want to cut down on paper take the tax transcripts which are just a few pages instead of tax returns.

April 22, 2020 - I-751 sent

April 23, 2020 - I-751 received at Lockbox

April 29, 2020 - Check cashed
??? - didn’t receive text or email confirmation. Ugh!

You can't take electronic devices into the embassy or field office.
