My friend's marriage certificate came after 2 months (sent in early Sept, came back in Nov). For his AOS, by good grace, we intercepted it at the Gvt Office, asked for certification and used it.

Then get your wife back on the next flight. With how slow mail delivery has been, coupled with the fact that it is Christmas, you may get the letter near the interview date. So her being back ASAP will at least help the situation.

This happens often times in the Philippines as well. I have seen a couple cases like this and they never came back to update us what happened with their cases. The last case I saw this woman said she was married in 00's as well to try to get a tourist visa. She then met, married, and had a family with a American. He petitioned for her and everything came out in the interview about her claiming that she was married before. The CO flat out told her "Bring me the annulment, divorce decree, or death certificate and I will issue you this visa". Needless to say the husband was mad saying that it was the embassy's fault. 

Also @Timona, I checked the spreadsheet but there is no field for biometrics letter announced, so I will fill it in when I receive the letter in the mail 😄.
