It says under Filed For that you were under F1 status. Perhaps they also wanted to know that your marriage is genuine and that you're not using it to stay in the US.

    Your fine.
It was only 30 days about 4 years ago. even if you'd have any bans they would be over by now. (But also there is no ban for only 30 days overstay.)

I overstayed the 60 day grace period of my F1 visa back in 2015 for a period of 30 days. The reason for my overstay was because I was waiting for my masters diploma to be issued, since the college I attended doesn't ship diplomas internationally.

Would I be required to fill out a waiver for my 30 day overstay? I have already filled out the DS160 and disclosed this information. We're just waiting for the interview to be scheduled at this point

Prof_Q got a reaction from AmandaandChayne in Case Status- starting to panic
My NOA2 expired on Feb 10th. A couple of days prior, I emailed the embassy requesting for an extension, but they never responded to my email. On CEAC it still shows "Ready" for the case status, and that the case was last updated was on Dec 16th (Dec 13th was our interview date, but we emailed the embassy on the 10th of Dec requesting for it to be canceled and postponed until further notice)

Would anyone happen to know what this probably means? And is there a way for me to check the new expiration date of our NOA2? I'm assuming since it still says Ready that our case is still valid or has been automatically extended?

That's also a concern we're having but we understand that it's part of the process and we knew what we were getting ourselves into.

You're almost there. Worst case scenario you'll wait another 2 months. You've waited this long from the start of the K1 filing process up to this point. You're close to the (EAD) finish line. Hang in there!

You use the WAC #, NVC case number or leave it blank. All will work. I vote for the WAC#.

That booklet is readily available on USCIS's website found here https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Humanitarian/Battered%20Spouse%2C%20Children%20%26%20Parents/IMBRA%20Pamphlet%20Final%2001-07-2011%20for%20Web%20Posting.pdf Shouldn't have to wait now.

    Hello,

We received our NOA2 and we are currently waiting for our application to be sent to NVC and then the embassy.

Here is what I'm aware what happens next, or what we should expect. Can you guys please correct me if I'm missing anything?

1- Wait to receive case number from NVC
2- Use case number to fill DS160 form and schedule interview at the embassy
3- Fill out I134 Affidavit of Support form (petitioner)
4- Have medical check and police background checks ready before interview
5- Have copy of NOA2 receipt and updated letter of intent
6- Have proof of ongoing relationship

Is there anything that I'm leaving out? Thank you so much for your inputs in advance!

I'd like to help if something is more specific to your Embassy but you don't list that in your profile. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline or your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine your Embassy. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

    Thanks

On the DS160 you need to put the USCIS receipt #, not the NVC case #. Also I didn't have to write updated letter of intent as the last stage of the DS160 had a check off box with that sentence "I, NAME, do hereby declare that I am legally able and will marry NAME OF THE PETITIONER within 90 days of my arrival..." blah blah.

With the NVC case# you can track your case and see when it was received by your embassy. The status would be ready and it will say you can now have the interview.

I had to wait for a letter from my embassy before scheduling the interview and medical but this varies by country.

Police clearance certificates are valid for 1 year from date of issue in the eyes of the embassy unless you reenter the country again for longer than 6 months after receiving it. You should be ok. Received my fiance's certificate in April, and didn't interview until end of August.

Your police clearance certificate is valid for a period of one year from the date it was issued. If the validity has expired before your visa is issued you will be requested to provide an updated police certificate from the country you are currently living in. If you have already submitted police certificates from other countries where you have not recently lived you will not have to provide an update.

Make sure they'll still be valid for your interview. For example the portuguese one is only valid for 3 months.

@Prof_Q little reminder, since you are closer to POE than ever.

Get SS# as soon as possible after POE, do not wait for 14 days to apply for it. Just wasting time
After SS# is applied for,  get marriage license and get married and marriage certificate
    Send AOS, EAD and AP

there is no telling how and when the permits or GC will get to you. Some FO get them faster than others, meaning the GC interview can be quicker than EAD

    Good luck

Prof_Q got a reaction from apawsiopao in How to speed up the case?
Hey. 1st I wanna say congratulations on your future baby and future family.

I believe you are in the regular time frame. Right now according to the app tracker, they are working on late February applications. We're also early April filers, so we're expecting at least a month from now before they start adjudicating applications for April. Keep in mind that with having your application delivered from USCIS to NVC then from NVC to the embassy, obtaining your non criminal background checks, medical, and scheduling your interview appointment, this would all add another 1-2 months to the wait time (I don't know how the wait is for the embassy in Philippines, but it's just a rough estimate).

So all in all, you're almost there but you still have some waiting to do. Do not stress yourself out with the time or the process in general. Everything will eventually work out. As you are pregnant, mental and emotional health should be a top priority at the moment. So just hang in there, and it'll all be done soon

4 months, can be renewed twice for 4 more months each time. If you haven't scheduled an interview due to lack of available dates at your embassy/consulate, it's likely they'll renew it automatically, but contact them to make sure they do.

So is this a sign that things are going to start speeding up on the USCIS end, if they haven't already? I see a few folks on here who are June filers; this makes it a 6 month wait for NOA2 which isn't bad compared to the long waits people are expecting now.

OP,  I would not cross that line. They do not need proof you guys are in bed or anything. IMO actually that would make you look desperate trying to prove something.  But if pictures in bed is what you think will be beneficial for your case then go ahead.

Good luck guys. Let's use these 6-7 months that we are waiting to grow and do much needed work on our selves. Let's use it as an opportunity to better who we are mentally and physically so when we are united with our loved ones in the US, we become better partners and better contributors to American society. Go to the gym, learn a new skill, save money, become more well rounded, become a healthier version of yourself; anything that involves self development. You have all the time in the world and the time is now!
