Long...boring wait

Any word on how it's coming along for the EAD's?

We sent the whole petition in on August 13th. We've done the biometrics on September 14th but haven't heard much. Hell, our case status hasn't changed at all which is a bit discouraging. I know, I know this is the wait that everyone goes through. I just feel so sorry for my husband. He stays at home with our daughter but I know he's going stir crazy and feels guilty that I'm the only one working. Plus, he's always worked so hard since he was 15 so this is a definite hit to his pride. Money isn't really tight but we're kinda stuck in limbo. Desperately wanting to get out of our tiny apartment and buy a home.

Anyway, not really complaining just venting and to anyone else...you are not alone. This part I believe is the roughest. Hoping for some good news before 2019...cheers😃

Average EAD processing timelines are ~4-6 months. Some are closer to the 4 month period, while others are closer to 6 months (usually those with an RFIE, but not always).

Yeah, the wait to work is a big drawback of the K-1 visa. My wife was the same way.

Hoping to be on the 4 month side...fingers crossed. I organized a really well put together petition so hopefully no RFE. It's rough and he gets frustrated. "Makes no sense they let you in but make it hard for you to work" Baby I know but it's a necessary evil unfortunately.

That's also a concern we're having but we understand that it's part of the process and we knew what we were getting ourselves into.

You're almost there. Worst case scenario you'll wait another 2 months. You've waited this long from the start of the K1 filing process up to this point. You're close to the (EAD) finish line. Hang in there!

Before they did pretty good from what I can tell about getting it within 100 days. They like to have it done in 90. Unfortunately, everything is backlogged at the moment so if you get it within 120 days you're one of the lucky ones. :/

EDIT: Sorry, I must have misread an email. Thought you were asking me :)
