Add your joint 2018 taxes, and file your 2019 taxes and add them too.

If YOU earn more money, YOU may be the one who has to pay alimony! This happened to my sister. And a person can indeed be "left with nothing" after divorce, if there were no shared assets and monies were strictly kept separate. Then you would only be entitled to what you own separately.
If you really want protection, get a prenup, always file taxes as "Married filing separately."

databit got a reaction from NikLR in Supreme Court allows Trump administration to move forward with 'public charge' rule (merged)
"In the past, that was largely based on an assessment that an immigrant would be dependent upon cash benefits. But the Trump administration proposed to broaden the definition to include noncash benefits, such as Medicaid, supplemental nutrition and federal housing assistance. Anyone who would be likely to require that broader range of help for more than 12 months in any three-year period would be swept into the expanded definition."

If you haven't already, you should also go alone to separate anger management counseling (not online), which shows both your support and further acknowledgement of your role in the incident. Also add for the two of you together some in-person marriage counseling. You could thus have two people, your personal therapist and the marital therapist (should never be the same person!) in your corner.
Take the money you're saving for a house and secure the services of a good immigration attorney now, to be on retainer in case a sudden problem arises. Wouldn't even think about getting pregnant until this is all over.

OP, have you prearranged health insurance for her? Any gap in medication can cause resistance with the virus. The HIV meds are expensive in the US.

NO! THE OBLIGATION AS A SPONSOR DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY STOP AFTER 10 YEARS!
People keep quoting 10 years as some magic number. The alien is under NO obligation to ever become a citizen, or under NO obligation to ever work enough (40 quarters or about 10 years of full-time employment) to qualify for Social Security or Medicare. The responsibility for the alien can be life-long!

databit got a reaction from crbabelgium in Health Insurance for Parents on B2 doing AOS while in U.S
Ohio is one of the states that expanded Medicaid. In the states that did, people falling below the minimum ACA income level (and do not qualify for Medicare even if over 65) would be usually covered under Medicaid. Do not know Ohio's laws about accepting new immigrants under Medicaid.

databit got a reaction from Wallhut in Africa to America: Adjusting to the Climate
Not exactly an answer, but since he is vulnerable for respiratory illness, recommend he (and you?) get the following:
1) Annual flu vaccine (available now)
2) Pneumonia vaccine PPSV23 (lasts for decades or maybe for life)
or
3) Pneumonia vaccine PCV13 (same)

databit got a reaction from SalishSea in How to gain employment as a Nurse from Ukraine
The big problem is that in the US, there are not, to my knowledge, "Dental Surgery Nurses." There are oral surgery assistants, who would work under a different state board than the nursing board. These assistants are not Registered Nurses (RN's), or Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN's) or Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVN's).
