I never even saw that part in the proposed part of it. If I recall correctly USC children could be on CHIPS without problems for the parents. 
 
Yeah this is going to be funny when they get shot down as well because this has been a outstanding rule for decades. 

Swell then go enforce those contracts. Do not change the rules because you are scared to sue the sponsors. It seems to me the supporters of these changes are of the attitude that I got mine so lets close the door now.

The wait is the wait - an attorney can’t help with that. 

They could easily pass laws making it so that non citizens are not eligible for any kind of welfare. Especially ones who come in on 1-130 and K-1 who already are supposed to be supported by their sponsors. The spirit of the new law is that they don't want them in the US in the first place cuz they are able to pop out US citizens changing the demographics of America.

Leave on us passport enter vietnam and exit vietnam in Viet passport and enter US on US passport.

That's how it is in Sweden, there's no such thing as a joint- or co-sponsor.

Reasonable point.......what happens if the joint sponsor dies (as an example) after the immigrant arrives?  How is the US taxpayer protected?  

Exactly, and likely if you had needed a dime you would not have gotten one from them. Asking your mama, uncle, brother, cousin, or friend to fill out a form for you is far different than asking them to support you through hard times which is what they are agreeing to do when they sign. I'm glad you made it through and were successful. However, the number of no income people you see bringing over low education/unemployed foreigners is disheartening and shows why people are dissatisfied with the system. The merit of the petitioner and beneficiary should be what is used to determine immigration not whether or not they know someone with enough money that is willing to sign a form for them.

A more logical step to me would be to completely do away with co-sponsors. Would do a lot more to make the spirit of the rule effective in my opinion.

If one is being honest 125% poverty level is not really live-able for 2 people and it prob should be way more. I think 250% is probably fair and that is for the benefit of the immigrant.
