CR-1 Status Removal
Dashinka replied to Axl7's topic in IR-1 / CR-1 Spouse Visa Process & Procedures
The 6 month validity date of the visa is based on the date of the medical exam for the visa which is usually a few days or more prior to the interview date. Generally speaking, I am not one to encourage rescheduling a visa interview/medical exam, but that pain can vary by consulate, so you may want to look into it for your country. Good Luck! -
What @Melc said is absolutely correct. When the spouse enters on the CR1/IR1, they are immediately a GC holder with proof being the endorsed visa. The only thing I would add that you can relay to your friend is if it is at all possible, they should consider delaying the entry until after the 2nd wedding anniversary so they can get a 10 yr GC.

After 129f received
Dashinka replied to izzy777's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
You received what is referred to as the NOA1 (Notice of Action). If there is no Request for Evidence (RFE) between the time of filing the I129F and approval, you will not hear anything until you receive the NOA2 showing the I129F is approved. Good Luck! -

Just more slow, steady and corrupt. Apparently the gaslighted Left loves that. Merrick Garland’s latest dirty trick to protect the Bidens Attorney General Merrick Garland may have just played his last trick card to save Joe Biden: appointing a special counsel to delay prosecution of his son Hunter. With any luck, the official Justice Department final report on Biden family shenanigans will be released in December 2024, one month after the presidential election. Perpetuating an investigation is the most respectable Washington cover-up scam. Federal agencies and the Justice Department dragged out for five years the investigation of Hunter’s gun, tax and foreign influence peddling. The statute of limitations already expired on several of his crimes, but that was OK because of the spelling of his last name. https://nypost.com/2023/08/11/merrick-garlands-latest-dirty-trick-to-protect-the-bidens/

Then plan on visiting as much as possible after filing so your spouse can have even more evidence of a bonafide relationship at the time of the interview. Good Luck!

We all know Old Corrupt Joe likes to cut corners and take the easy road (remember his plagiarizing), so it is no surprise that he has been utterly corrupt for years. The Bidens reaped millions for talking about the weather? That dinner is particularly interesting to investigators because it included Yelena Baturina, a Russian billionaire businesswoman whose late husband had been mayor of Moscow. Not long before the event, Baturina wired $3.5 million to Rosemont Seneca Thornton, one of Hunter Biden's many companies. And then — voila! — she found herself at dinner with the vice president of the U.S. That is what people in Hunter Biden's business circle meant when they talked about Joe Biden being the "brand" of the family influence business. He was also its product. What did Baturina get for her $3.5 million? Among other things, a face-to-face meeting with the vice president. But what else? What was discussed? What projects were undertaken, or not undertaken, as a result of the get-together at Cafe Milano? For anyone trying to learn what happened, that is the hardest part of the investigation because the Biden story seems to be that when Baturina paid $3.5 million, she got to talk to Joe Biden about...the weather. https://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/the-bidens-reaped-millions-for-talking-about-the-weather

Why Fitch’s Downgrade Matters The risk isn’t of a debt crisis that locks the U.S. out of the markets, as happened to Greece in 2010 or Mexico in 1994; that is virtually impossible for a mature country that borrows in its own currency. The risk, rather, is of deficits and interest rates feeding back on each other at growing cost to both economic growth and taxpayers. Federal budget deficits can’t be viewed in isolation. When S&P downgraded the U.S. back in 2011, the deficit was equivalent to 8.4% of gross domestic product, close to a post-World War II high. But in the wake of the 2007-09 recession, such deficits were both easy to finance and necessary. Private investment was subdued, unemployment at 9%, underlying inflation below the Federal Reserve’s 2% target and interest rates stuck at around zero. https://www.wsj.com/articles/fitch-downgrade-us-credit-rating-4ad98230?mod=economy_lead_pos3 -
Ok, fairly predictable considering the Biden Corruption news that came out recently. So if someone said hey, let's delete some security footage, but they don't actually do it, that is a crime? I know, slow, steady and corrupt! I do wonder if the FBI is going to raid Kathy Griffin's home soon. Hmm, I wonder if PG&E will have ultimate control, or if the control will come from Sacramento. West Coast utility CEO wants EVs to save California’s power grid PG&E, California’s largest utility, is pushing General Motors to expand on a pilot program from last year and install bidirectional charging software across its current fleet of electric vehicles. Meanwhile, Ford Motor Co. has been promoting its F-150 Lightning electric truck as a backup power source on wheels, capable of reenergizing homes during an outage, and Tesla has plans to introduce two-way charging in its models. “We see great potential,” Poppe said in an interview. “The grid needs those electric vehicles. We need to make it available and it can be a huge resource.” https://www.autonews.com/mobility-report/pge-ceo-wants-evs-provide-power-prevent-blackouts

Just another example of the outlandish estimates we get from those some call "experts". Although the plastic getting into the ocean is not good, the amount estimated was off by just an order of magnitude. How Much Plastic Is Really In Our Oceans? Researchers Have A Surprising New Answer But, new research has suggested the amount we’re polluting the sea with this particular synthetic material isn’t quite as terrible as previously assumed. It’s a small win, but still worth noting. The study, published on Monday in the journal Nature Geoscience, found that around 500,000 metric tons of plastic end up in the sea every year. Half of this comes from land, while the rest stems from the fishing industry’s equipment. Clearly, this is still a huge amount to be polluting our environment every 365 days – and the amount of plastic found in the ocean is still increasing by around 4% every year. That means the current amount of plastic in the oceans could double within 20 years. But, it’s a big change from a study dating back to 2015 which estimated there were eight million metric tons going in the Earth’s oceans just from rivers every year. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/technology/how-much-plastic-is-really-in-our-oceans-researchers-have-a-surprising-new-answer/ar-AA1eXBxH

Interesting comments by the EV acolyte. Why is it unacceptable that it is cheaper to fill up with petrol than charging with a public charger? To me it is inevitable as the demand on power increases, the cost will increase, and visa versa for petrol. I also love the 80% charge at home comment, I see that a lot, and maybe it was true when EVs were less than 1% of the market, but if EVs do in fact replace ICE over time, a lot of folks will only have the public charging option. Ginny Buckley, founder and CEO of Electrifying.com, said: “With little over six years to go until 2030, it’s unacceptable that in some cases it’s cheaper to fill up a petrol car than it is to charge an electric car, and those without off-street parking - around one-third of drivers nationally - are the ones who are paying the price for this. “With an estimated 80 per cent of electric car charging taking place at home, we can clearly see that this discrepancy is proving to be yet another barrier to electric car ownership.”

It sounds like you have not filed anything yet, so if you are still planning on an eventual K1 visa, the first affidavit of support will be the I134 at the time of the interview, and to my knowledge the I134 does not ask for household size specifically, but you will need to meet the I864p requirements at that time. After the K1 is issued a you get married and file the I864 with the I485 AOS submission, you will have to list the total household size which by that time will be at least 3. On a side note, with a child coming, have you considered a spousal visa? Things like CRBA, etc. can be smoother if the child is not born out of wedlock. @Mike E can sum it up much better than me, but it is something to think about. Good Luck!

All valid reasons for certain. I am amazed at how many Leftist women that were so supportive of the person who came forward with unsubstantiated accusations of Brett K., and yet all but tarred and feathered Tara R. -
No, unlike the I751 where you must file within the 90 day window, the N400 is optional, and a personal choice, and as @Former stated, the 90 day N400 window is one sided and only represents the earliest filing date. If your desire is to naturalize, sure go ahead and file after your window opens up. Good Luck!

So will the EPA and CARB be interested in the overall CO2 emissions of EVs? So far this has been ignored. Reminds me of one CEO's words (I seem to remember Tavares), 'just because a government says it is zero emissions, does not mean that it is'. New EPA Tailpipe Standards Call Electric Vehicle Promises Into Question The Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) ambitious tailpipe emissions standards may be partly canceled out by emissions earlier in the electric vehicle (EV) supply chain, said panelists at a RealClearEnergy webinar last Wednesday. On April 12, the EPA unveiled new vehicle emissions standards under the Clean Air Act which would mandate auto manufacturers to lower the carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions from their vehicles to a company wide average of 82 grams per mile by 2032. Currently, the average passenger vehicle emits about 400 grams of CO2 per mile. Only one automaker, Tesla, would meet the standard today. https://www.realclearenergy.org/articles/2023/08/07/new_epa_tailpipe_standards_call_electric_vehicle_promises_into_question_970708.html

No questions at K1 interview?
Dashinka replied to chrisaki's topic in K-1 Fiance(e) Visa Case Filing and Progress Reports
My now wife's visa consisted of 3 questions. If the DS160 and the I129F package was comprehensive and lacking any complications, maybe the CO felt no need to ask anything. -
So tips in getting married in Thailand. I agree with @Mike E, pursue the spousal visa (CR1/IR1), there is no speed benefit to the K1 anymore, get the marriage legal in Thailand while you are there for the next month, then file the I130 as soon as you can. Good Luck! https://th.usembassy.gov/u-s-citizen-services/local-resources-of-u-s-citizens/getting-married-in-thailand/

Nearly 100 arrested in child sex abuse case that claimed lives of 2 South Florida FBI agents The investigation into the alleged ring stretched all the way to Australia. “We see it as a significant outcome and it should serve as a warning to those who are preying on our most vulnerable,” Australian Federal Police Cmdr. Helen Schneider said. “We are looking for you, and we will find you and arrest you.” https://www.local10.com/news/local/2023/08/08/nearly-100-arrested-in-child-sex-abuse-case-that-claimed-lives-of-2-south-florida-fbi-agents/

Novel, and apparently effective. How long before the "progressives" deem it inappropriate, or racist, or whatever else they can think of to continue their regressive trend. WATCH: Los Angeles 7-11 Proprietor Uses Toto's 'Africa' to Keep Homeless Encampments Away From the Store And that’s just *inside* the store. Especially in places like Los Angeles, San Diego, San Francisco, and Sacramento (not so much in the more sane areas of the state, which do exist, and I can’t list them because I’ve been sworn to secrecy), potential customers first have to navigate past the “unhoused” and even some unhoused communal living centers (a/k/a homeless encampments) to enter places like 7-11, AM/PM, or even CVS and Walgreens. Nobody wants to actually physically confront these people, because sadly many are mentally ill, and many are violent. And, while COVID didn’t kill them in big numbers, they’re not exactly living in hygienic circumstances. If the cops do come to clear them out, they’re usually back soon. So the best solution is for them to leave voluntarily, or to make your establishment an unattractive location. Promises of housing and services haven’t been very effective in enticing folks to leave their tents or shopping carts, and people who’ve erected barriers to prevent folks from sleeping on the sidewalk have had their hands slapped by code enforcement bureaucrats. As far as I know, though, nobody’s tried blasting one song on repeat, 24/7, from a store’s outdoor speakers, but that’s working for a 7-11 in West Los Angeles. Damon Packard, who lives near the store, wrote about it on his public Facebook page on Saturday, saying: https://redstate.com/jenvanlaar/2023/08/08/watch-los-angeles-7-11-proprietor-uses-totos-africa-to-keep-homeless-encampments-away-from-the-store-n789782
