He isn't the one being interviewed. Why are you worried?

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

Contact the Court and see if he can pay? Might need a lawyer.

You take your documents and attend the interview and best to u

his conduct is not yours

let him take care of his own mess

he needs to (either go thru a lawyer or turn himself in to police)

he will spend a day or more in jail while waiting to see a judge / some courts make a person pay on the spot for the fines ,  court expenses, etc / others will let him make payment arrangements / a lawyer will want his/her fee upfront

Is your name on the title or registration  of any of the  vehicles that got parking tickets?

I don't think that will affect your case.

Go over the forms that you have filled out, depending on your petition, I don't think there are that many questions for the USC for this types of issues but go over the forms.

Also to reduce the chance of his arrest and/or time in detention, get the money from him, go to the court house and pay the fines.

A lawyer or maybe you (don't know the procedure) can get the warrant vacated. They want their money

As long as he is not the one in the court house to pay the fines he can't get arrested unless he is pulled over or they come looking for him.

Good catch.

Too long to write. Came on an F1 student visa in 2019, married, adjusted my status, then became a citizen in Sept 2023

He has to show up with her. It's probably the what if he gets arrested and can't be there what is worrying OP.

For the arrest warrant, just show up to any court. They should let you go. Then clear the tickets.

I had one back in 2015. I did not even know about it. It was issued though I had already paid the ticket. I came to know about it when a cop stopped me. I called a traffic tickets lawyer who told me to just show up to court. And that's what I did the next day. I was so naive. The judge looked at me and before I could even open my mouth, she said it's dismissed since she's seen me. Maybe, she saw how naive I was and was like "This kid is about to pee in his pants. Seems like a good guy. Lemme make his life easier."

To clarify. He will still have to show up in court but as long as the fine has already been paid, the likelihood or length of detention will be less/shorter

@DNA2020 it is very important that you answer this. If it is, it could potentially impact your case...

If it is JUST for traffic tickets he can go to the circuit clerks office or he can call them and they will tell him what to do. Usually you can go in and pay the fines. It really depends on how hardcore the jurisdiction you live in is. Do NOT have him turn himself in to the police for a warrant for unpaid traffic tickets. They will have little choice to arrest him/post bond for the amount of the tickets. Again, contact the circuit clerk or a traffic law lawyer. You know the ones with their faces on the side of the bus.) Breath, your interview will not be impacted.

The only impact is whether he will be able to attend the interview if he is incarcerated
