Married after 1 year of relationship. How bad will it look at the interview?

I am 27F from Italy, my partner is 32F from California.

We met online in December 2020 and started a relationship 4 months later, after she confessed her feelings. We spent almost 3 months together here in Italy this summer. I proposed in September; at that point we had been together for 5 months and known each other for 9 (I knew she liked the idea of getting engaged). We plan on meeting in person again next spring, this time in the US, and also plan on getting married on the exact day we confessed our feelings, so after exactly 1 year of relationship.

All of this feels right to us, but we are aware of the fact that most relationships don't evolve this quickly. We would like to file for the CR-1 visa shortly after getting married (so that I'll be able to move to the US after I graduate), but we worry about how the short length of our relationship is going to look at the interview. It's giving us a good deal of anxiety. Thank you very much.

What are you worrying about? Proceed.

Immigration journey is not: fast, for the faint at heart, easy, cheap, for the impatient nor right away. If more than 50% of this applies to you, best get off the bus.

None of your posted concerns are issues.  A Journey of 2 years begins with the first step.....

We married after just less than a year of dating. We had our consulate interview after being married just short of 7 months. Fast forward and Mary has her citizenship interview in 2 weeks.  Spending time together before filing is very helpful. The more time together the better.  Our time together, and travel together, was brought up at the interview but really just as a way of verifying that we in a bonafide relationship.

Italy is a low-fraud, low-risk country in terms of US immigration.  I would be very surprised if you had any issues with the relationship timeline.

Nothing here looks concerning. File away.

Don't worry about it. Like what my now-husband told my father, "When you know, you know!"

We met online February 2018.

Became boyfriend-girlfriend in March 2018.

He traveled to see me first time in June 2018. We got engaged on 2nd day of his 8-day stay.

He filed for fiancé visa in December 2018.

I immigrated to the US in July 2019.

Got married in August 2019.

Two years later, we are still madly inlove with each other 🥰

New Petition:

Apr 5,  2023: Naturalization

Apr 6, 2023: I-130 for my mother

Apr 6, 2023: NOA1

Apr 9, 2024: Approved

Apr 13, 2024: Sent to NVC

Apr 18, 2024: Received email fr NVC and paid the AOS/IV fee

We got engaged in 6 weeks after we met and married 7 months after that. Never came up during our embassy interview for CR-1 or during our ROC interview in June of this year. My husband has been in the US for almost 4 years now.

Unless it's a high fraud country (which Italy is not), you have nothing to worry about.
