Hello,

 

I sent all my application materials for IR1 green card (married to USC) and AOS that got delivered on Thu, 8/20. I realized on 8/21 that I have used the wrong i485 form (edition 07/15/19) instead of the form that is on the USCIS (edition date 10/15/19). Since I found the mistake within a day, do I submit the updated i485 and supporting documentation right away? I read that if USCIS hasn't started working on your case, you can still send it and they will update the form. Can you please let me know if any of you went through something similar?

Uscis will likely reject and send your package back to you. You can send the new package after that or even now.

2015-10-05: NVC assigned Case number, Invoice ID & Beneficiary ID

2016-06-30: DS-261 completed, AOS Fee Paid, WL received

2016-07-07: AOS and IV Package mailed

2016-07-08: NVC Scan

2016-08-08: Case Complete

2017-06-30: Interview, approved

2017-07-04: Visa in hand

2017-08-01: Entry to US

As pointed out it (old submission) will most likely be rejected however I would not recommend sending a new package without the first one being rejected. 

Just another random guy from the internet with an opinion, although usually backed by data!

you can only have one AOS petition active. if you are sure you can send another copy of the application and documents + payment as a petition.  you dont have to wait for the rejection but if they accept your old one and new one for some reason than you get charged on both applications. so beware anything is possible at USCIS

September 13, 2011: Paid IV bill (payment portal showed PAID on September 14, 2011)
September 14, 2011: Emailed IV package
October 3, 2011: Emailed checklist response (checklist generated due to typo on Form DS-230)
October 6, 2011: Case complete at NVC
November 10, 2011: Interview - APPROVED!!!
December 7, 2011: POE - Sea-Tac Airport

September 17, 2013: Mailed I-751 to CSC

September 23, 2013: Received NOA1 in mail (receipt date September 19th)

October 16, 2013: Biometrics Appointment

January 28, 2014: Production of new Green Card ordered

February 3, 2014: New Green Card received; done with USCIS until fall of 2023*

December 18, 2023:  Filed I-90 to renew Green Card

December 21, 2023:  Production of new Green Card ordered - will be seeing USCIS again every 10 years for renewal

You wait.  If your I-130 is accepted and I-485 rejected, just refile the correct I-485 along with a copy of the NOA1 from the I-130.  If the the entire package is rejected then resend all of it.

October 29, 2018 Applied for Social Security Card - November 5, 2018 Social Security Card received

November 6th, 2018 State ID Card Received, Applied for Global Entry - Feb 8,2019 Approved.

July 14, 2020 Removal of Conditions submitted by mail  July 12, 2021 Biometrics Completed
