My husband and I were high school penpals!  That was sooooo long ago, that there was no 'online', lol.  We wrote paper letters back and forth for  years before finally meeting in 1991 when he came to Seattle on vacation after 6 weeks in Europe.  We lost touch, had marriages, kids, careers, etc before reconnecting on FB in 2015.

Omg! Such an amazing story! ♥️

I met my wife in a bar in Cambridge, UK. She was in the UK with a colleague on business for a week and I was visiting Cambridge to see a friend. I met her on her final night before she returned to the USA. One of my friends took a liking to her work colleague so I was playing wingman. Talked to her all night. I ended up keeping in touch with her online, and then visiting the US to stay with her about 6 months after that first meeting. A few more visits in both directions and then we started looking at visas.

That sounds amazing! Best of luck to you both and hopefully it gets approved soon! If you could do it again, would you go the CR-1 route? 💗 I'm at the very beginning of the process so I know I will need a lot of patience as well. lol

At the time. I didn’t want to get married because we’ve only been together for 6 months but looking back now, mainly because of covid-19 I wish I just did that before she left. But I’m happy I went this route. I don’t know how true this is but at the time I thought I read somewhere that the k-1 was the faster route so I think that was why I went that way.        Yes lol good luck and enjoy the ride.

We met at KFC in Makati (Metro Manila)! We lived three blocks from each other. Have been together ever since. Almost 10 years.

Had never even thought of dating an American, and certainly not moving to America, and then becoming an American!

First place he took me in America - Honolulu, Hawaii. Second place - Santa Barbara, CA. Third - New York, New York.

Has been an adventure ever since....

We BOTH feel lucky.

Profile pic - Rainbow Tower of the Hilton Hawaiian Village - Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii.

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.

Hi! I just submitted my I-129F forms today. So excited!

In my research, I found quite a bit of US Citizens who met their fiance(e)s online. I actually met mine in person. He was working onboard a cruise ship and I was a passenger. :)

I submitted as much evidence as possible of this meeting. I included my cruise booking confirmation, my cruise ship card, his contract, my flight info, a receipt from a scooter shop we went to together, and conversations from Facebook with date stamps from the ship. We did not have any photos together, but I submitted photos I took of him.  Hopefully this will be enough evidence.

I met my husband on Nantucket in person. I was doing a summer work abroad program and he worked at the same place as me. We worked together for 3 summers and spent one year going back and forth before he proposed. Now we are married and just applied to have ROC (10 yr GC) Good luck on your journey! Try not to over think everything (easier said than done). They will just send a RFE if they need more info. 😊

I didn’t meet my husband online. I grew up really close to the Canadian border and he grew up really close to the American side. We grew up only an hour and a half away from each other. My friend and I went down to an MLB game in Seattle and went to a brewery after, and there he was :)

He really pursued me but I didn’t take it seriously because we lived in different countries, but he convinced me to meet him half way (well more than half way for him haha) for a date. We were pretty into each other after that and would alternate weekends visiting each other for a few years before he asked me to move to the US and be his wife. He actually visited my hometown a few times when we were growing up and I visited his a few times too, before we knew each other.

I took a sabbatical and went to LA for 6 months in 2017, to stay with my friend and party A LOT. I'd had a crappy breakup at the end of 2016, so just wanted to let my hair down.

Whilst there, I decided that dating might be fun (we don't really date in the UK, or certainly not like in the US), and my girlfriends all used various dating apps (which again, I'd never tried and thought it would be fun)...again, just thinking I'd have some fun, nothing serious...

Started dating my now-husband, who was also using a dating app for the first time (he was married for 18 years, up until 2016, so this was his first foray into the dating world for a LONG time)...and after dating for 4 months in 2017, then many, many visits back and forth between England and US, we're now married and bought our first home together a few weeks ago 🙃.

Not sure whether a dating app counts as online or not...?

I met my fiance at a party in the UK almost 15 years ago -- I was doing a junior year abroad at his university. I had been dragged to the party by my well-meaning flatmate but she was off talking to her friends and I was kind of alone. I was sitting on a sofa and I felt it move forward a little. When I peered over the side, there was the guy I would end up getting engaged to years later. He was hiding from his ex-girlfriend! I slipped down next to him to talk and hide. We were friends for a while, then we tried dating, and it didn't work out. We had an up and down friendship for many years but we grew closer when first his marriage fell apart, and then mine did. We were there for each other when we both needed it the most, and we ended up falling in love. :)

I love all these happy stories. :D

Oh my goodness, my fiancee and I met the exact same way!!!  After I left the ship and his contract ended, I went to Serbia to spend time with him and to meet his family and such.  So crazy how love can work in mysterious ways!

Congratulations on your engagement and best of luck with a speedy NOA2! :)
