Are NOA2s going to be delayed?

They received my case on February 10th. I know that there was a lock down but I know people from uscis are probably commuting from home working on cases. I’m incredibly frustrated with the wait. I see other people with receipt dates from after me getting their noa2s. What’s going on?

I am a December filer. We got our NOA2 this past Monday. Took 6 months.

am a December filer. We got our NOA2 this past Monday. Took 6 months. I believe the average is now closer to 5 months. Cases are really not processed in order. Background checks take longer for some people versus others.

I saw other December filers approved in March and a ton in April. We waited until the end of May before we heard anything. And it was an RFE. Luckily I got the response sent in quickly and had an approval two weeks later.

Trust the process no matter how frustrating and slow it seems. Everything will work out. Consulates are closed worldwide anyway. Even with an approval you won't be able to do anything.

Good luck my fellow Utahn

Visa Journey (and other sites that copied the convention from here) call the "Notice of Action" statements USCIS mails to petitioners "NOA".

The first one you (assuming you're the US citizen petitioner) get (acknowledging acceptance of the petition, and which shows your case #) is called NOA1 here.

The second one you get (notifying of the petition's approval, assuming all goes well and there are no requests for evidence) is called NOA2 here.

They were working with a skeleton crew for a time. Don't know if that is the current situation.

Additionally, the Current Month's VJ member I-129f CSC approvals is at an all time high in regard to number per month, @ 94 to date from June 1st - 26th. I've only looked back as far as mid 2019 but since then until now there has been no other month to even compare to those numbers. So for right now, it looking pretty good. Good luck :)

My K1 wife and her K2 daughter filed Nov 2019 for AOS.  The wife received both the work permit and travel doc in May.  The website also shows in May they will be sending an interview date which has yet to come. The daughter received just the NOA 1 seven months ago.
Just need to wait it out. They have been here since July 2019
