Hello everyone,

I hope everyone's doing well! I just would like to ask, Anyone from Maryland here? I still haven't gotten my approval, it's close to a year now (July 18, 2020). My case is just stuck in "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken" Since August 2020. Is there anyway to contact them? I mean i know it could go really slow, but if waiting is the only option then i shall wait longer lol.

Anybody knows how to extend the extension letter? I'm just planning ahead cos i read somewhere she lost her job because her extension letter  expired.

Thank you everyone, God bless!

ROC Process:

07.07.2020: I-751 Mailed

07.10.2020: NOA

08.04.2020: Biometrics (Re-used From 2017)

11.23.2021: Received 24 Months Extension

00.00.2022: Awaiting Interview/Approval

Oh my God I'm exactly in the same boat! I live in Maryland and filed mine in July 2020. My receipt number starts with YSC and my case has been stuck at "finger prints were taken" since this January. There's been no updates since. I tried calling the USCIS customer service but the robotic message won't let me go through to the live agents, so I'm playing the waiting game like you are...

If my understanding is right, the extension letter extends our Green cards for 18 months after it expires, not from the day we received the extension letter(am I right?). If you count when the letter/Green card really expires this way, you'll get bit more time.

I have no idea how to extend the letter but I read somewhere that the USCIS will send us another extension letter...?? I sure hope I won't lose my job over this expensive non-sense😂

Within 30 days of the expiration of the extension letter 18 months after your conditional green card expires, call USCIS to make an info pass appointment to get an i551 stamp in your passport. I551 stamp are good up to a year.

No you will not, if you get to the point and your extension letter runs out only your proof of your LPR status runs out, not the LPR status itself. You remain in status, you keep the right to work; only your proof of your continued LPR status expires. You can get a i551 stamp at your local USCIS field office by making an info pass appointment for updated proof of your continued LPR status if needed.

Hello,

So mine will expire March 2022. I'm guessing your field office is also Potomac, VA? Did they open back up already do you know?

Goodluck to all of us!

Congrats on your pregnancy.❤ I think we have the same timeline. After a year from date of receipt, I just had my biometric yesterday. Today, my status online was updated to "fingerprints were taken" after a year of being stuck with "case received" status.

Your employer should not ask you for new documentation if you started with them before your 2-year GC expired: https://www.uscis.gov/i-9-central/complete-correct-form-i-9/completing-section-3-reverification-and-rehires

Employers should not reverify:

  • U.S. citizens and noncitizen nationals
  • Lawful permanent residents who presented a Form I-551, Permanent Resident or Alien Registration Receipt card for Section 2. This includes conditional residents.
  • List B documents

I absolutely LOVE the VJ timelines I get every Sunday.  They teach me how I have no idea what's coming next.

Here's a quick forecast off my Excel sheet.  Our approval date will be sometime between 18 months ago and early 2023.

Literally, I NEED this reminder every week. 🙂

I also live in Maryland and I applied on July 18, 2020. My case number starts with YSC and status still says "Case was updated to show fingerprints were taken". I did apply for citizenship last month as I am eligible now and the estimated turn around time for that says 9 months. I hope the Potomac center gets its act together soon.

We passed the ROC interview.  I was surprises that I was being asked all the questions instead of my conditional resident wife.  Initially the officer seemed bit cold but after few minutes of questioning she became cordial.  We both worked for the government so we kind of established rapport.   The officer asked her maybe 2 questions. I was asked 20 or so questions.  We had an interpreter but forgot to mention about her to the officer so ended up having on standby.  We didn't need one at all.

I was concerned that I checked she understands English on the form and be scrutinized about it.  Towards the end she said we are to be approved.  I offered 2 inch thick prong fastended updated documents but she said no need and didn't bother to accept it. 😁

Here are the questions not exactly in the order listed:

To US Citizen:

Questions about her taking my last name after seeing her driver license and marriage certificate.

Birth date of wife?

Where do you work.?

Other questions as bout my job, etc

Do you have a mortgage?

About my apartment bought before marriage, etc

Do I have a side job?

Did you have to pay a dowry?

Where did you take the engagement photos.?

Questions about engagement pictures.

Your wife family are a middle class family?

Do you have any children?

Where your work?

What year did I became naturalized?

What year I immigrated to US.

Who sponsored me to come to US?

Did you do the application?

More questions that lead from the other questions above.

To conditional resident wife:

How many bedroom?

Who cooks?  (I intentionally redirected question to my wife so she can answer.  I wanted show her English improved and good since on the form I checked she understands English)

It has been a long journey and many days of worrying and preparation.    Naturalization is next!

Good luck to y'all.   Don't stress it.  Just keep it real.   They know if you are faking itScreenshot_20211110-113100.thumb.jpg.00c6df107592407a8ae62af05450467a.jpg

Hi everyone! We filed in July 2020 and still waiting for any sign from USCIS. My Green Card expired, of course, but thankfully they sent me the 18 months extension, which is until March 2022.

However, last week they sent me another extension of 24 months which, in my understanding, adds 6 more months to the first one.

Since my driver license is also valid until March, according to the first extension, should I let the DMV know I got 6 more months? Or just wait until it's time to renew it? I just don't want to have any problem with them. Thank you!
