Filled taxes as single now we on NVC stage will that affect our case in anyway?

Shouldn’t. But y’all need to amend your tax return with IRS, you’re not legally permitted to file single if married.

Hi everyone,

Tax return (1040) and Tax Return Transcript are two different thing.

I submitted the Tax Return Transcript (downloaded from the IRS website) for the most recent tax year (2018) on my 864. I did not submit a w2 and got DQ today.

W2 has to attached when you filed jointly in your most recent tax year.

I do not know if it's needed when using the Tax Return (1040)

So, just got off the phone with US Embassy in Canberra... 30 mins of my life wasted.. If your thinking to do this, don’t waste your time and just keep banging your head on the wall.

note, outsourcing to call centres overseas continues even with the US Embassy.. 😐

I have been thinking if I made mistake for not including my W-2 on my AOS package because I read the instruction again if I submit Tax Return Transcripts from IRS it has to be with W-2 relating to my return. Thank you, now I’m not worried about my application and just wait for the DQ.

Can anyone shed light into the whole scanning documents debacle? It shouldn´t be so hard but I am totally second guessing myself. I have searched endless internet rabbit holes and am getting conflicting info - and there are no official instructions...

I read that all documents should be scanned vertically - so the officer does not have to tilt his/her head.

What about certificates that are horizontal in nature? Should I shrink it so it´s vertically scanned?
Is there a Youtube tutorial on this?! :)
