I wish I could give you good news, but no, still no progress 😭

I know we are probably one of the earliest ones with IOE that also sent in for the 129f too as I’ve not seen anyone with earlier dates comment.... I was looking this morning what date they’re “officially” working on and it said sometime in February.

Still hoping that we will get some news this side of Xmas, if not before April at the latest and based on my calculations that’s the latest we can still hope we’d get approved in time for moving in the summer and my daughters being able to start school 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

Oh no, that's what I thought 😞
I'll keep my fingers crossed for you guys!  I really hope that your daughters can start school in the US in summer! 🙏 We're pretty much in the same boat as we're also planning to move back sometimes after the end of school summer vacation (so my son could start school) and Christmas 2020. I'm affraid it'll probably be December 2020 or even later for us though 😭

Also I'd be perfectly fine with USCIS just approving our K3/K4 😀 (which I know they most likely won't) in order for us to be with the family sooner rather than later and being able to celebrate the holidays with them.

It would still need to get through NVC and the consulate. NVC has their own policy on I-129Fs for a spouse. The few that make it through there may never be granted an interview by the consulate still.

Visa statistics: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/Statistics/Non-Immigrant-Statistics/NIVWorkload/FY2018NIVWorkloadbyVisaCategory.pdf

FY18 had 34 K-3 visa applications reach them, of which only 6 were approved...an 82% initial refusal rate. Of those, 7 were overcome, making a final refusal rate of 62%. That's extremely high. The final refusal rate for a K-1, for comparison, was 19%.

Timelines:

I know that the K3 will never make it anywhere - what I meant to say is that it would sure be great for it to at least cut off 2 or 3 months from the regular processing time, but we‘ll take whatever. It‘s just hard to be away from family and since our daughter’s great grandmother was diagnosed with a starting phase of dementia, we want to get there as soon as possible and before she won‘t really recognize her great granddaughter, that she prayed for for so many years, anymore 😢

Kind of how I have been looking at it as well.  My i130 has PD late Sept 2019.  I (USC) was hoping to be able to move back to the US (all of us, spouse and 2 kids) Summer 2020.  Doesn't look like that is happening.  Even if I filed 129f today.  Might have to wait to Summer 2021...

Let's hope that it'll be faster than that 🙏

My husband (USC), I and our kids will just go back whenever everything is approved - no matter if it's winter or summer 🙂

Who knows - maybe the online submission of I-130 will start to speed up things. If they actually improved their business process to become efficient (just imagine the amount of automatization with electronic petitions), they might process the online applications by dedicated teams (potentially the E-Filed case processing sections they mention in the case status? 🤷‍♀️) across all centers without having a specific assignment to one center anymore. That way the process would actually become a fair one 🤔

I think we all hope this yes, but I also suspect they need to process all the paper applications lying around first... But yeah, hope for the best, plan for the worst!

Hi guys, hope you are all doing alright. Just a question, how many letters have you all received after you sent out your 129f? My case got delivered nov 26, and haven't gotten anything yet. I kinda waved it because of Thanksgiving, but still it would be about the time to get a number and confirmation that the case is in process

  • 2 weeks later...

Our I-130 is due to be approved in about 4 1/2 months. So it would seem pointless to now file an I-129f. I wish I would have known about this back in May 2019. It would likely have accelerated the process just slightly.

FYI.. We just missed the cut-off for direct consular filings in Manila, which was halted as of May 16, 2019. Terrible news. At that point, I realized we were going to be waiting well over a year.

Yeah, I empathize with you. In Korea, they took the last papers on August 20th I think it was. We filed a month later. Really hurts to see before the whole process took around 4 months.
