According to US Post, the documents made it to USCIS on October 10th. No NOA1 by text, email, or paper in mail yet. Is it ever normal?

Unfortunately, it's not all that uncommon for it take up to a month for NOA1 from an AOS packet. This summer a lot of AOS applications were taking a long time to NOA1, but no one ever discerned a pattern to it (though lots of people had ideas).

If you haven't gotten a NOA1 within 30 days of filing, try contacting Lockbox Support at LockboxSupport@uscis.dhs.gov

We're about to file our forms and have a few questions:

  • We only need to include 1 copy of marriage certificate, and that's with the I-485 packet right? Is it OK to include in the other 2 packets?
  • Do we put all the papers loose but in order, or should they be clipped or stapled in anyway?
  • Is a name, signature, and A# or anything needed on additional pages that we have (such as on tax transcripts, I-94 records, etc.)?

Thanks for the help everyone :)

Here's our updated timeline, for anyone losing faith...

Oct 5: Sent K-1 AOS package using USPS Priority Mail Express with Signature Confirmation

Oct 8: Package signed for at Chicago Lockbox

Oct 13: Credit card charged for $1,225

Oct 18 (at 12:43 AM): Multiple USCIS texts with 3 different receipt numbers (I-485, I-131, I-765)

Oct 21 & 22: Received 3 different NOA letters in the mailbox

We're pretty excited to be past this step. Now we can relax a little. Good luck to everyone!

Also we're waiting for our SSN. Should we wait a few more days for it to process so we can add it to our forms, or just leave it blank since we don't have it now?

Is it OK to include copies of passport entry stamps, I-94, and marriage certificate with the I-765 and I-131 packets?

Hi, Usaph!

I believe you need to include copies of the marriage certificate in each application.  I was told by a friend who went through the AOS process that different offices (desks, at at the very least) process each one.

In the USCIS website, they prefer the documents to not be clipped or stapled.  They prefer them to be hole-punched, check their site out.

Not sure how to answer the last point, maybe someone here can help?

Thanks!

Thank you! That website is helpful... It answered my 3rd question.

For my other post, do you or anyone else know if it's best to wait for SSN, or submit AOS now since it could be days (or maybe weeks) til we get SSN.

Don't wait for your SSN. There is no advantage to having your SSN filled in on your AOS forms. Get your package in the mail as soon as you are confident everything else in it looks good.
