I'm adjusting status from K1 visa and have my AOS Interview next month. When I submitted my AOS application my wife (USC) was transitioning between jobs so we used her mom (my mother in law) as a joint sponsor. Now my wife and I both have a job and make enough above the level required. Can we not use my mother in law as a joint sponsor anymore? If yes, should I just take an updated i-864 with my wife's information or do I need to do anything else? Do I need to take any of my mother in laws documents if we're not using her as a joint sponsor?

Thank you for your help in advance!!

This is due to USCIS moving card printing in house instead of relying on external contractor. Unfortunately they only have one printing facility set up and now they have sizable backlog of EAD and GC cards in need of printing got back to early July.
Hopefully you will get it soon!

LOL.  Why I am not surprised!!  Yet another USCIS inefficiency.

So, its October 2020.  Any other March 2019 AOS filers still waiting for interview?

And just to document some more USICS inefficiency .... because it makes me feel better ....

I asked the congress person to investigate and USCIS just told them the standard processing time data ... that they currently report 35 months processing time so only applications before November 2017 are expired

.... information that i can see myself from the website.  So a waste of everyones time, again.    But the congress person didn't even ask me for details of our specific issue so i assume they just asked USCIS for a generic query.

I submitted a service request online and received a USCIS response saying that the receipt number I provided belongs to a different applicant  !!  It doesn't, its our receipt number.

Finally, interview scheduled for mid November!!

In case the info may be of use to anyone else:

On 9th October, out of the blue, someone apparently from USCIS, called my spouse, the petitioner, to discuss the application.  They said they would have to track down their missing documents.   Then on 21st Oct they generated a notice that cancelled the Dec 2019 interview and the next day they issued a notice for a new interview in November.

Co-incidentially, on 10th Oct, I submitted as an "out of processing time" request.  The original March 2019 application PD was not out of their published processing time, but I claimed that the interview re-schedule was out of processing time.  On 14th Oct, the formal response to the service request was the very strange "not your case number".    I had used was the correct number, so the person processing the service request must have typed the wrong number in their system.

When in fact, they had started activity on 9th Oct.   Just one more wrong information from USCIS.  But it doesn't matter any more.

That seems very long.  Seems like you got your original AP/EAD card before me, but then nothing on the interview.  In the Dallas field office, our original interview request was for December 2019, 2 months after the first AP card.

I don't have any suggestions - as nothing worked for me - seems like they did it at their own pace as they felt like. I suppose Covid did delay their staff.    At least if it goes to 2 years after your marriage then you will hopefully get the 10 year green card, not the 2-year card.

Hello guys, what are some of the tips to prepare for interview and what kind of questions should I expect during the interview process?

Mostly questions about your relationship. They will go through Yes/No questions you answered on the I-485 form (criminal history, etc) They like to see finances intermingling, e.g. joint accounts, official things showing both names, etc. Expect it to be fairly low key and low pressure.

OMG are you gonna have your interview just now? I'm sorry for this long wait!! If I remember correctly you submitted your AOS package way before 2019 March...

You definitely gonna get the 10 year card, don't worry!

Our questions mostly was about the I-485 questions, some about our relationship (how and where we met, each other's birthday etc), but our officer was more interested of the shared stuff like car finance, car insurance, shared phone bill, utility bills, credit cards etc... He didn't care much for the photos, he said it can be photoshopped, so he didn't care the photos.

Good luck on your interview and please keep us posted!
