Is anyone watching the debates tonight and tomorrow?

I admit to being a total nerd -- I set an alarm for myself to remember to check for this morning's Quinnipiac and USA Today polls. :D Looks like there's only going to be one debate with 10 people on stage, on the 12th, unless Tom Heyer somehow magically gets 2% in some poll today. According to 538 that's super unlikely: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features/heres-whos-qualified-for-the-third-debate-and-whos-on-the-bubble/

Actually glad there's only one debate, as we will be driving down to the LA area on the 13th from up here to visit my parents. If there were two, I'd be stuck listening since I'm the one driving this time. 😕

Yeah, the Dems totally screwed the pooch on this by not allowing Tulsi to be in the 3rd debate. She has been up there in many polls but only the "Approved" polls are what the DNC has used. So they pretty much screwed a lot of people already of their support.

Not surprised what they did to Tulsi, reminds me of Bernie last time.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

Has Tulsi hit 2% in any of the polls though? I know the rules were spelled out a long time ago, and while I don't necessarily agree with them winnowing down the number like they have with the greater amount of support in polls and donations, I don't think this is directed at her like some of the DNC stuff was directed at Bernie. There are a number of candidates I think are getting screwed with these cutoffs that have some interesting things to say, like Bennet for example.

First select which polls qualify, the DCC saw her as a threat. Took her down.

Interesting -- I'm reading more about it. I don't like her, I admit it! But I also think more voices is a good thing, even when they are voices I don't always agree with. I'm not a super hard lefty Democrat anyway, which is why I think people like Bennet and even Ryan (and Gabbard!) should be up there to try to show a broader range of positions. I'm quite socially liberal, but when it comes to economic/fiscal stuff I am a little more centrist. This is why I'm not completely convinced about Medicare for All being rolled out immediately without a slow ramp up, and why I think keeping private options is important in healthcare. I'm getting more and more concerned about a recession too -- my fiance is works in finance/investment management, and he's increasingly of the opinion that there are a lot of warning signals flashing. Personally I was okay during the Great Recession (I'm sure @ALFKAD can point to my wealthy ex-husband as the person responsible for keeping me insulated!) but I'm a little more exposed this time. I have a meeting with my wealth manager soon to discuss strategies because I do not want to get burned.

Did 538 say there was a 90% chance he will not ?

LOL

Still waiting to hear anything definitive on Steyer. I just spent some time looking at his website and Twitter and I realize I just hadn't bothered to look into him more as a candidate. I wrote him off too early, and I guess I bought into the narrative that at least some of the candidates are inevitable so I didn't dig in further. 😕 I even thought I have been keeping an open mind but apparently not open enough. Count me as another victim of the DNC? 😝

To me they all got the same platform. More taxes, free stuff, open borders, and if you disagree you hate women and are racist

She has hit 2% among many of the polls but for the DNC approved polls it has been 2 of them. It is directly attacking her because they far Left and the mainstream Dems don't want a person who appeals to many different people. She hits many of the marks for a guy like me and someone I would might look at to vote for.

She is a strong woman who has been to Iraq and actually did something while their. While Buttiwhatever was just a driver (which tells me something right there) and never saw any action at all.

Why don't you like her? She is a great candidate for someone to crossover vote for. Someone a lot better than Warren, Harris, or Sanders.

FYI... the winds have been blowing for a while now that a slowdown is coming. I don't work in finance but I like to read everything and correlate things. But this one will be worse than 2008 I think for many reasons

Because a fair amount of her domestic policies are more for the Left wing side of the party. But she is smart enough to know when she might need to moderate her stance or just to have a open mind about a subject. That is why she went to visit Assad and to see what was going on on the ground. Which she has been blasted for by both sides.

What is sad is that she can't even defend herself because she is on orders right now to Indonesia until next month.

Tulsi has gotten hosed by the DNC.

She lives in Hawaii and therefore must be a Democrat in order to be elected to anything.

06-04-2007 = TSC stamps postal return-receipt for I-129f.

06-11-2007 = NOA1 date (unknown to me).

07-20-2007 = Phoned Immigration Officer; got WAC#; where's NOA1?

09-25-2007 = Touch (first-ever).

09-28-2007 = NOA1, 23 days after their 45-day promise to send it (grrrr).

10-20 & 11-14-2007 = Phoned ImmOffs; "still pending."

12-11-2007 = 180 days; file is "between workstations, may be early Jan."; touches 12/11 & 12/12.

12-18-2007 = Call; file is with Division 9 ofcr. (bckgrnd check); e-prompt to shake it; touch.

12-19-2007 = NOA2 by e-mail & web, dated 12-18-07 (187 days; 201 per VJ); in mail 12/24/07.

01-09-2008 = File from USCIS to NVC, 1-4-08; NVC creates file, 1/15/08; to consulate 1/16/08.

01-23-2008 = Consulate gets file; outdated Packet 4 mailed to fiancee 1/27/08; rec'd 3/3/08.

04-29-2008 = Fiancee's 4-min. consular interview, 8:30 a.m.; much evidence brought but not allowed to be presented (consul: "More proof! Second interview! Bring your fiance!").

05-05-2008 = Infuriating $12 call to non-English-speaking consulate appointment-setter.

05-06-2008 = Better $12 call to English-speaker; "joint" interview date 6/30/08 (my selection).

06-30-2008 = Stokes Interrogations w/Ecuadorian (not USC); "wait 2 weeks; we'll mail her."

07-2008 = Daily calls to DOS: "currently processing"; 8/05 = Phoned consulate, got Section Chief; wrote him.

08-07-08 = E-mail from consulate, promising to issue visa "as soon as we get her passport" (on 8/12, per DHL).

08-27-08 = Phoned consulate (they "couldn't find" our file); visa DHL'd 8/28; in hand 9/1; through POE on 10/9 with NO hassles(!).

Which by an large has ALREADY disenfranchised many would be voters from voting for Biden. Jimmy Dore, a far Left wing guy has called it for months now saying that the Dems will do this to help Biden or Harris.
