We got our greencard approved on November 15 and the card is LOST IN THE MAIL!! #######!! We moved three days before our interview and were advised to wait and tell the officer in the interview that we needed to change the address– we did, he took all our info– but he still sent the card to our old address. It's been almost a month... we've been waiting for all of our mail to be redirected by USPS and have still not received a single piece of mail. I've contacted so many people in our local and regional postal service and only today after all these weeks did someone tell me that USPS does not redirect mail from government institutions, including USCIS. So they apparently would have sent it back to USCIS... I think we need to apply for a lost GC? So frustrated!!!!

are you for certain that GC was mailed? have you signed up for deliver confirmation emails? if you have that information it can help you and USPS to find your lost mail.

Ooof, it's getting so much more frustrating to wait for that EAD/AP, seeing how many others have received it. The EAD process happens through a national office, right? Like, those huge differences in processing times for each field office... those only affect the wait time for the green card, not the EAD, right? I've been assuming it's just kinda random why some people get the EAD earlier than others.

Anyway, I'll just keep checking the USCIS website with our case number. Hopefully my husband will get his EAD "any day now" as the current estimate implies! :)

As I understand it, EAD/AP happens through the NBC (National Benefits Center).  When you get the I-485 status indicating your case is ready to be scheduled for an interview, that part of it then falls on your local office to schedule/conduct the interview.  Again, this is how I understand it.

I feel your pain on the EAD/AP wait.  It is my opinion EAD/AP should reconcile itself much quicker.  I feel for those who are waiting excessively and would stand to benefit while in the queue for a GC interview.  Clearly the process needs to be revamped/redesigned.  It's an unnecessary burden on beneficiaries.

Faxed off my job offer letter yesterday for my EAD, the job wants me to start on 23rd December and the way immigration are processing stuff these days I really don’t see me being able to start, considering I made the request with USCIS just after thanksgiving. So over this whole process.

My congressman submitted expedite due to USCIS Error the day before thanksgiving and it has been radio silence since. No case status updates, nothing.

No notice on an interview but the EAD card may be on the way. The online status says “New Card is Being Produced”!

Anyone know how long it takes for it to come?

Will be curious to follow you guys' timeline. My local office is San Francisco with an even longer wait time (even though ironically, it is slightly quicker and easier for us to get to Sacramento from our place) but I am looking forward to hear updates from fellow North Bay/Inland California offices.

Just checked the site today and saw that our "Case Is Ready To Be Scheduled For An Interview" ... so, still in the waiting game but at least we're on to the next phase of the waiting game! Our field office will be Sacramento which I think has long processing times.

I just had mine scheduled today.  Quite surprised, as I was expecting it no earlier than April - May.  Would've been nice if it was April - May as well, since my marriage would've been 2 years old by then.

I am not very happy about it, since a few more months and I would've got the 10 years GC.  But, it is what it is.

Congrats - though sorry it's not gonna be the 10-year GC. But for what it's worth, you've given me some hope that things are moving!

We're really hoping to get EAD & AP soon... according to VJ timeline & processing times, it should be any day now (though we had an RFIE that added 3 weeks to the process, don't know if that's factored in on VJ).

Anyway, good luck with the interview! How far out is it scheduled?

Yeah, I'd expect your EAD/AP probably by February at the latest.  That's if you also don't get scheduled for the interview.

As for my schedule, I guess I'll find out when I receive the mail.  It's likely going to be mid January.

Maybe you can reschedule your interview so that it'll be a few months later to make it to 2 years marriage? I don't know if that's possible - just a thought.

You did have a pretty quick turnaround time. I wish my case could be transferred to Sacramento!
