I agree, but even so that information is in his USCIS records wouldn't something like that prompt an adjudicator to question that?

They may or may not. It is up to the interviewing CO.

Do I have to wait for CO to ask me or I should I explain to them before the interview and apologize for my mistakes?

You should wait until the CO ask. S/he may not even ask you about it. Don't make the mistake and talk your way out of a visa. Just be 100% honest and to the point about anything asked.

I would also take the advice from @junkmart about sticking to what is official. America is very "by the book", meaning if it ain't on paper (legal) it didn't happen. Many countries/cultures have different ways of doing things and it sometimes become an issue when dealing with American standards and laws. People take care of abandoned children all the time in the world. They may be their child in their eyes, but if there are no legal documents, it is not official in the US government's eyes.

Don’t cover a lie with a lie, if you are asked be truthful and tell them he’s been the father for you since you lost your father. What they hate most is when you cover up a lie with another lies...

You have high chances being a CR1

who advised you to use your uncle's name instead of your father's?

I hope he wasn't involved on anything for this visa

It means they have not yet made a decision about your visa.

That is a good sign, everyone that gets a visa gets their passport taken after interview, just wait the 2 weeks out it might not even be up to that before you hear from them but i am sure you are fine! Goodluck

Better than an upfront denial. Good on OP for telling the truth.
