I'm really happy to see that the Atlanta office is going fast! I'm also a fellow Atlanta resident, and I filed for N-400 on Jan 26th! I have a bio dated for Feb 21st @ 10AM at the ASC on Chamblee Tucker Road, however I was hoping I could do a walk-in for this. Anyone have any experience doing walk-ins? I usually just stuck to the date they gave me, however this time they scheduled me on a day I already have work on 😧

I went to the same locAtion for my bio but stuck to the date given. I asked the lady if they accept walk ins, they said it depends on how busy they are which is almost always busy in this particular location (she told me this) then she told me, if I would have done a walk-in, I would most likely be turned away. So, I guess you may want to risk being turned away or just stick to the date for this particular location. 😊

Hello there,

I did walk in at the ASC on Chamblee Tucker road 2 days before my Appt date. I was there at 7 it wasn`t too busy, they had me sit next to where check people in so everyone who had original appointments checked in first. After about 20 mins wait, i was allowed to get in line and was done in about an hour. Very pleasant experience there. I  remember the officer at the door asking someone inside the office how many people would they allow as walk-ins for  today and he said about 30. So it depends on their work load and staffing. Make sure to be there early as possible.

Hello all,

I was K1 but got divorced. I have a GC now. I am from the Middle East.
It is about time to apply for N400.
I am not sure how easy or hard the interview and the officer questions about why did you get divorce in less than a year.

My question, do I have to hire a lawyer. Or it is ok/easy to do it by myself?
I am just worried about the interview since I was married and divorced through K1 waiver

Thanks.

Thanks.

You would be filing for 5 year in this case. If you choose 5 year, your marriage has nothing to do with it anymore and they shouldn't ask any questions about that, since that should have been part of your ROC. The main thing is that you remained domicile in the US and that you did your taxes on a 5 year.

My Interview on the 11th went well, waited almost 3 hours before we were called for the interview. Passed the English and civics test without issues, however the IO couldn't make the decision on n400 because my i751 needed to be approved first. He said that that i751 approval is done in Nebraska and he will get that done morning of next day as my interview ended at 4 30 and they close around that time. Will update here when my status cange.

Also, I asked if my oath ceremony could be rescheduled to April (due to international travel) but he said he can't reschedule oaths anymore but I can do it by sending the oath notice back to ATL office when I receive it in mail.

Hey all, just had a successful walk-in bio appointment today (Originally scheduled Feb 21). Came in at around 8:30 AM, the guy at the door told me that if I had come yesterday I would have been turned back, however it was slower than usual today.

Just received a message in my inbox on USCIS DHS.gov website. It says this

"Requesting information about your N-400, Application for Naturalization.

Your application information has been entered into the system which schedules applicants for interviews at their local Field Office. Interview appointments are scheduled as slots become available at the Field Office. Once you have been scheduled for an appointment, you will receive an Interview Appointment Notice to appear at a certain date and time at your local Field Office. You must take the Interview Appointment Notice and photo ID to your appointment. Please review the Interview Appointment Notice for any other requirements.

Once you have been scheduled, you may view and print a copy of your Interview Appointment Notice within your USCIS online filing system account. After you log in to your USCIS online filing system account, access the Home Tab to find the "Documents" field to view or print your official appointment notice from USCIS."

Fellow Greater Atlanta resident, here. So encouraging to see how fast this office is moving! Submitted my application online last night, with the 3-year rule based on marriage and with requesting a name change. My ROC had already been approved so hopefully things won't get delayed for me much.

02/14/2014 - Case shipped to Embassy, where it waited for over a year at my request                                 11/07/2015 - AOS approved (EAD and AP had already been approved) - there was no interview

I was gonna do the name change, but then it was asking for proof of name change documents and I didn't have any, so I opted out and will do it later (changing my first name). Did you already have your name changed?

I changed my name with marriage, initially (took my husband's last name and dropped a middle name), but now I want to do a name change with citizenship. My legal name is way too long because that's how we do things back home. I want to drop a few of the words in my name and just stick with the First Middle Last that most Americans have. I'm not changing any name per se, just losing some of them.

Hello,

I applied in March 2019 (including a name change), in Atlanta, and did the biometrics, but my interview was done in Montgomery AL on 8/31/2019, then I was approved in December, then also in December my status while signed on to my USCIS.gov account changed to "We sent your application to another office for review" and still says so to this day. But when I lookup my case status from uscis.gov/tools it says "Oath will be scheduled", in line for oath. Also my estimated completion date was March 2020 but a few days ago it changed to May 2021! :| Something doesn't make any sense. How come I'm in line for the oath but at the same time my completion date is in 15 months? Is this even accurate at all?
