Hi, I am doing a AOS (married to US citizen) and finally we received the receipts today in the mail. With that and a job offer, can I ask for an expedited work permit?

I think they'd need to take your fingerprints first cause the EAD has your fingerprint on it.

Have you gotten your SSN?

I came here on a K1 so I applied for the SSN the day after I arrived and received it 4 weeks later.

Hi Wayne

I am in the same boat as you were a few days back coz they sent me an RFE for i485 which paused my EAD process, now that I have sent my RFE response back to them and they have also updated that they have received my documents today. So what what could be my next step to resume the EAD process? I read your previous posts on this thread where you mentioned that you called the customer care and talked to tier 2 officer, so should I also try doing that or wait for 45 days after my expedite request was approved?

please advice...!!!

I would say you can call and wait at the same time because that is what I was doing until Tier 2 told me about the 30-45 days wait time.

01/28/2020 - Biometrics Completed

01/31/2020 - I-131 Rejected due to selecting the incorrect reason for applying. (Refiled)
02/06/2020 - Refiled I-131, delivered & signed for by CHYBA

02/11/2020 - EAD Expedite Requested (Financial Hardship, Health Issues)

02/13/2020 - Evidence requested and faxed

02/18/2020 - EAD Expedite Approved 😩

02/18/2020 - RFE needed (waiting on mail) 😩

02/21/2020 - RFE (Sponsor Needed)..... in process

03/02/2020 - Received NOA for Refiled I-131 (NOA: 02/06/2020)

03/10/2020 - RFE Response Sent to USCIS

03/12/2020 - I-131 Updated to Fingerprints were Taken (Used from Bio)

03/12/2020 - RFE delivered to USCIS

03/12/2020 - Case updated to RFE received

03/21/2020 - Received Courtesy Letter for Medical

04/02/2020 - EAD (New Card Ordered)

04/03/2020 - EAD Case Was Approved

Ok. Is it worth it to involve my congressmen in the case coz USCIS will work on its own pace and might take longer?

It can't hurt. I involved my congress rep and things moved a lot faster as reps have their own office liasons within USCIS to chase things up.
