We did not staple every single thing but, we sent in only one set of documents fastened together via a two hole (top) paper fastener as seen below.  We also included a cover sheet with a bulleted list of documents that were included so they can know the order of the documents and know where to look for something in particular.  I would not advise to send in two sets of documents.

Thanks, Duncan.  That helps.  I've got the cover letter and sections prepped.  AYCO fasteners might be tough since it might cut off the top of my taxes so I'll probably stick to binder clips and sleeves.

Not even at scan date yet.  Just got my NOA2 in the mail, dated 3/16 so I'm hoping it'll go fast.

Seems like they updated the London consulate instructions recently with this pretty new document too: https://travel.state.gov/content/dam/visas/iv-dv-supplemental/LND - London.pdf

Outta curiosity, varicella is a required vaccine but I don't think it's offered in the UK.  Any suggestions?

If your from the UK from what I remember when looking at the medical we are exempt from it being from here, because the uk dosent give it. I did call the medical centre - Knightsbridge and the receptionist did explain whatever you need and what isn't documented in your vaccination history, they will just give it all there so your up to date.. Obviously at a cost! ?

I can not believe it is now 11 weeks.....that is nearly triple the amount of time when I checked in Dec. What is going on at the NVC ??? Is this the influx that went through before the potus took over? Then the hire freeze?

I did not send in a police certificate for a country where I lived for more than 12 months, so they needed that as well (I only sent in one from my country of origin).  When responding I included the following:

Cover letter with a list of documents that were included in the correspondence:

* Copy of checklist letter

* Bar code cover sheet

* Original police certificate in local language

* Translated police certificate in English

* Certificate of accuracy from agency who translated the document

The case number was written on the top right hand corner on each page (including cover page).  Did you speak with a supervisor?

Spoke to two reps so far. A rude one and kind one, I think they work in pairs ;)

Neither of them could forward me to the supervisor since they claimed the supervisors are currently on the meetings. Kind one confirmed that they pretty much cannot distinguish whether police certificate is physically missing or the one I sent is not valid for some reason.

Even though I validated multiple times with local authorities that this is the certificate they're asking for, honestly I'll be more glad that's the reason then knowing that NVC can lose documents so easily.

Scan: 01/17/2017

Got checklist today from NVC. They're requesting police certificate even though it was included with civil documents along with bar code sheet!

I am sorry . That totally sucks !! I saw your other posts about requesting a supervisor. I know this is probably the last thing you wanna hear  but, its very hard getting to speak to a supervisor. My cousin requested supervisor 4-5 times and didn't get a call back until her case was complete.  Hopefully that won't happen to you. Keep calling. If you are sure you did send them the police report which I am sure you have, they need to find that report !!

Scan Date 01/18

I think the workers from NVC should work 16 hours a day, including saturday, sunday and holidays... if they want to rest on weekends, the waiting time has to be about 4 weeks... you would see how fast the cases would go.

Hahah, I know they are only human but... If it wasn't a government run department I am sure going over double the expected wait time would never happen. We paid our fees the same as the others who only had to wait 4 weeks. I figured a year max for the whole process ... NOW it seems i'll hoping it only takes a year!

My police certificate was sent twice because my case number changed with my move, so I really hope they didn't give me a new scan date when the second one arrived :-(  It would have been at about week 2

I was given a new scan date either than that my original scan date is January 19, but fingers crossed waiting for a case complete without checklist
