We have an instance. The Tax year in US is Jan-Dec. My husband was filling his tax forms and had to include my income as well. Now the tax year in my home country is not the same. The CPA is asking for the tax return(you call it tax transcript) statement or we need to ask for a tax extension. It could take me quite a few months to pay my taxes in my home country?

Has anybody encountered the same? How did you get through? Any help regarding this would be great.

If your husband filed Married Filing Jointly, you would need a TIN or SSN and you would have to state all your worldwide income.  Your husband would need to submit HIS taxes and W2s so the tax year in your home country doesn't apply unless that somehow impacts whatever you're submitting in lieu of a W2.

A Tax Return is what your husband files with the IRS to state his earnings and to either receive a refund due to overpayment of taxes or pay any balance remaining.

A Tax transcript is what you request from the IRS as confirmation/proof of your filed taxes so this is not the same.

In addition, tax transcripts are only available 2-8 weeks (depending on whether he e-filed or paper filed) after he has filed his taxes.

As someone else suggested, tell your husband to file married filing separately this year until you cross the border and receive your SSN.  This is what I did as well.  He will have to pay a little more in taxes this year since his tax bracket goes up (unless he has an amazing accountant and some lovely itemized deductions) but he will still have 3 years to file amended returns.

I see some people getting checklist for leaving pages 10-12 on i864 blanks. Do you guys have any experiences on this? Is it required to filled out if you do not use interpreter or preparer?

Don't fill it out if it doesn't apply but send all pages including the blank ones.

i just called NVC and got a rep after 10 minutes, was checking my case stats where i sent 3rd check list and my scan date is Feb 27, she told me that you have to wait now up to 11 weeks i asked her it was 8 weeks she said from this Monday that is the new time frame and NVC update the time frame from 8weeks to now 11 weeks. :ranting: so now i have to wait 11 weeks and then it will forward to supervisor if the case didn't get review within 11 weeks. It shouldn't apply to those cases that is already pending before the new time frame updated to 11 weeks because when i confirmed my scan date 3 weeks ago and rep told me that it will take up to 8 weeks and now 11 weeks and this should only apply to those cases that's come on Monday and after. This is going more stress out now because my 1st case was completed on weeks 11 and this is now more and more time.

3rd checklist ?? what is your original scan date?

Y'all think if we should create a separate "MONTHLY SCAN DATE" topic just like Separate monthly I-130 fillers so that we have better idea about the timing of cases getting approved?

If there's already one, please let me know. I'd like to join it.

Hey that's actually a very good idea. I feel bad when there are questions being asked about the NVC process/checklists and we are talking about scan dates and CC'S . I don't like ignoring those questions but, I sometimes don't know the answers. I think we should have two separate topics in my opinion. Like you said it will give us better idea on the time frame.

Not sure if this is the right thread to ask, but has anyone been through their medical?  I was curious to know what kind of medical history people bring.  I rarely see Dr's and have seen numerous different over the years so have no hope of remembering who they were.  Do they just like to know about anything major that may have gone on?

Yes @Zaib212 3rd checklist?  You should definitely try to speak to a supervisor.  Yes, they say the clock restarts every time a new document is received, but if you explain your situation to a supervisor it can speed things up.

I-130 (for parents of US Citizens):

8/19/2022: NOA (IOE0917XXXXXX); Texas Service Center

7/22/2023: Both (parents) petitions approved

7/27/2023: Both cases sent to NVC

8/8/2023: Received NVC welcome email for both parents

If you've had any severe handicaps, illnesses, tuberculosis, etc. or have had chest x-rays, you would bring the medical logs for those.  If not, don't stress about it.

Oftentimes, people go to their family doctor/general practitioner to get any missing shots before the immigration medical which saves them a bit of hassle.  Definitely bring your vaccination records so they know what you already have and what you still need.

Looks like I'll be getting some vaccinations in advance.  I've never even had a flu shot so not happy about having to get these since I've never had the flu!  I'm just glad there's a blood test you can do to detect MMR because goodness knows where those records are;)

I hear you, but frankly even 8 weeks was far off target from their actual processing time currently; so all they did was give us a more realistic timeline. I know it doesn't help with the frustration we are all feeling, but it's good to know realistic timeline beforehand and not feel anxious (read more anxious) later.

Let's just wait in peace (well, try to anyway). Let's keep each other updated. I also have the scan date of Feb 27. Good luck.

Thanks!! Its nice to see so many people spending time to share information :)

Its official I just mailed out my package to NVC :D. I will not call them until 2nd week in May. I refuse to be stress out,  like I was during the I130 stage.

you should probably call in to check if they received your packet and get your scan date. then goes the long 10-12 weeks wait...
