Yes the whole process of the show is "bits and pieces" of the couples over the 90 days.

My partner and I got "sought after" quite abit by the production company to do their little interview for network. We declined several times.

But they just want to hear the struggles and all and "over state" the objections and "complications".

Just how it is, didn't make us very comfortable to even truely consider it.

Plus even having a 2-3 camera person crew follow you for 3-4 days every 2-3 weeks would just be akward haha.

The ironic thing is that what used to be "mail order bride" is now internet dating. I was introduced to my fiance by my AirBnB hostess of all things. I think what makes the show compelling is the K1 visa is such a whacked out compromise. They should make the K-1 visa more like the B2 visa. Rather than a one shot 90 day go/nogo use it or lose it visa, use it as a multiple entry visa that allows a relationship to mature normally.

As long as we have such terrible policy, this show will be able to find interesting stories.

Full disclosure, my fiance and I auditioned for the show. Needless to say, I will keep VJ informed about how it goes.

I like the k1 as it is. It isn't a "get to know you" visa. It's a "you're ready to be married and live your life with this person" visa. I think they should be a lot more strict on the ROC process personally. More especially on people who've arrived on k1 and a short relationship. I had more than enough relationship evidence despite my husband's and my short courtship. But yet here we are together for almost 5 years. Lots of longer relationships than mine too.

Yeah. The VWP countries have it easy. Plus, if my fiance were Canadian, my work would not give me such a hard time about visiting.

How many VWP country relationships make it onto the show?

Anytime this show contacts you on VJ theyre breaking our TOS. Please report the member asap.

I hadn't been a member here long when they contacted me, or I would have. I'm guessing they know this, because the profile they made has since been deleted.

Canada isn't a vwp country and visiting certainly can be easier, since you dont have to apply for a visitor visa, but each crossing still requires you potentially prove you arent going to stay in the US. For the USC is it easier to visit too since it's closer. I doubt many VWP countries would make it on, not enough ratings unless you want to see half normal relationships and their issues. There have been enough shows on those and all of their abnormalities.

There are some other reasons, probably socio-economic, that make non-VWP couples more interesting. The first time my husband who is from a VWP had ever been on an airplane was to visit me to propose before we filed for a K1. He had been to other countries via ferry or driving, but just never flew for total lack of interest.

In our case, it didn't really make things any easier necessarily because flying back and forth frequently to visit each other was largely unappealing. I flew over to see him for a few days less than 2 months after we started talking and he came for over a week a few months later and that was it.

The ironic thing is that what used to be "mail order bride" is now internet dating.

I'm sorry but I can't keep quiet on this point. Especially because this is one of, if not the most misunderstood thing about foreign dating. Internet dating is very different from the old fashioned "mail order bride" services. Guys don't order brides from a catalog anymore like they would a tie or suit from Sears. I would describe internet dating more like a virtual cafe, bar or (insert any public social situation) where you meet and hook up with different people. There is a world of difference between the two. In fact I'll take it one step further. Dating someone online domestically is for all intents and purposes the same as dating a foreign person. Only difference is the getting married part is a bit trickier. Now, if you were to say internet dating has replaced the outdated mail order bride services, I would agree.

I absolutely agree. I was writing to a nice girl from Kharkiv 26 years ago when my "friends" convinced me to abandon that relationship and find a "nice woman" in my church. Coulda - woulda - shoulda. Lot of scammers back then as well.

I hate how the show manipulates everyone and everything. I hate how it cuts and cuts and cuts to make people look more stupid than they already look (sorry not sorry) and make it look K-1 is such an easy way to get in the States. This show gives 90% of us such a bad name. Yesterday, I was at a party and some girls turned to me after hearing I was from the Netherlands and giggly said, "Oh, so you're one of those 90 day fiances? LOL!" (Which technically I am but they associated me with the show, of course)

Really hope DHS, the government, immigration/USCIS have their eyes on some people like Mohamed. That guy deserved a kick in his butt back to Tunisia.
