So in 2015 I applied for tourist visa to visit my girlfriend, we met on a dating site but  due to the fear of being denied because of the vast amount of people being denied at Lagos and Abuja embassy because they met online, we decided to lie about how we met, that we met through a friend and could not prove that, I was eventually denied the tourist visa, my fiancé decided to visit with her two daughters and we got engaged and filed for a k1 visa, so we now told the truth of how we met on our story, on the interview day we got denied saying that I originally said a different story on how we met while I applied for a tourist visa. Please I need help about this, is there anything that can be done, I know I lied but it was out of fear of being denied and I don't need to be crucified for that, just any thoughtful advice to help, it's not easy to be without your love one, everyone on this journey knows. Do you think we still have a chance for a second interview or something. Your help will be appreciated.

lying about your story is fraud and misrepresentation ,you can try doing a cr1 visa but fraud will be on your record

While a lot would say get married and file for a CR-1... the embassy knowing openly that you misrepresented yourself on the original tourist visa is really bad.. You openly lied on a tourist application, that in itself could definately make things a lot more challenging in the future.

Definately will be no second interview for you sir.

That is hard to say.. you can try the K-1 again...or the CR-1... but with the misrepresentation already known and on file for you, you may have actually caused yourself to have a ban.. you and the USC need to ask about this.

A lot, and a lot of us all have gone through denials of tourist visas here on VJ. My partner was denied one, mostly because of home stay rule from a J1 internship; but we were honest about why he wanted to come with me writing a letter and explaining my wish for his visit and all... By just having done that you would have avoided this whole mess. By trying to hide the truth you actually caused it to get worse.

K1 visas just get sent back and expired so your current path is dead.   You could try another K1 but I would expect the same answer in this case ( and I am normally a supporter of a second K1 over a CR1 )     You might have a better chance with a CR1 which means another visit , a marriage and another petition .  Having lied probably the best hope of getting a visa approved is to marry and her to live in Nigeria with you for a few years to put a lot if evidence of your relationship in front of what would then be an old lie.  But even that may not be 100%.

This will not be over quickly. You will not enjoy this.

So please what's the way forward?

you attempt the cr1 which may take a year or longer , or move to nigeria , fraud is now permanently on your file now  so its going to be quite a hurdle for you to overcome , if you even can

I agree with the others. Immigrating to the US is probably not in your future. You have documented fraud on your profile and come from a high fraud country. It's time to look at having your fiance immigrate instead.

CR-1 visa or you moving to Nigeria. You screwed up your good chances when it comes to immigration. You chose to lie, you now have to deal with the consequences. I highly doubt any visas in the near future will be successful for you.

Keep in mind. Moving to the United States is a privilege, not a right.

I stopped reading at "I lied".  I have zero sympathy when one misrepresents themselves.

Like Transborderwife, I lost interest after the OP mentioned he lied.

Only advise I have is to deal with the consequences. You rolled the dice and lost. Any difficulty you have moving forward is your own doing.
