My friend in Singapore a few years ago told me how many ladies were failing their interview on an easy question, "What was the color of your BF/spouse toothbrush?" It's all about proving how well you know each other and communicate.

That unfortunately is a question I do not know, A call to them for that may be the best option. But here is the kicker, DHL is good but once it leaves Vietnam they use a different tracking number, no idea why.
I have sent packages to USA from Vietnam with DHL and gotten through okay

You register your travels abroad and then the Embassy in the country you are in sends out emails on any news in the country.

Government workers are allowed into Vietnam if they choose to come here, but who really wants to fly here given having all the red tape to get here. Eventually they will run out of cases for CR-1 and move onto K-1's. Think about it, USCIS has not had many new cases since 1st of April as no one has been allowed in since March 15th, 6 months have gone by. You cannot meet someone if you can't get in here. And you cant get married here unless you are here or got in before March 15th, so the backlog at USCIS and NVC will eventually be caught up. And I read a few days ago over 400 cases of Cr-1 were done in July alone, twice the usual number per month.  They are working on things here albeit still slower than normal. The USA is backlogged just printing new passports because of the virus,  sadly the world we live in may never be the same post covid, even with a vaccine. Good Luck to all!!

While I don't have experience in this situation, I would probably include both documents of your relationship with him and also the mother-child relationship. Sometimes as you know its better to front load with documentation and a well written letter explaining what happened, rather than get an RFE later for something. Good luck with it and let us know the outcome.

I called them before and they said I have a new year after i called them, and each time you send in more documents you get another year from what they told me when i called them.

And it sounds like the ones who had visa interviews scheduled and cancelled will be taken care of first. I am in Vietnam with my wife now, and am enrolled in the STEP program, so I get updates from the Embassy quite often.
 

Thats good to hear altho I just read that USCIS will furlough 70% of its workforce on August 3rd  if they do not get emergency funding. I am hoping they get the funding!! Good luck to everyone.

The U.S. Embassy in Hanoi and Consulate General Ho Chi Minh City have resumed routine processing of passports and Consular Reports of Birth Abroad (CRBA). U.S. passport printing centers have also resumed limited operations and are processing the backlog of cases on a first-in, first-out basis. We do not yet know exact delivery times for new passports, but we will update this information on our website when delivery times return to normal.

Check on your embassies website for updated news. Vietnam will reopen June 1st with limited services, no mention altho about visa interviews starting up.
 I think each country will have different reopen and starting dates depending on the virus situation of the country

The problem with you coming to Vietnam is if you are allowed into the country, since they are not allowing foreigners in right now unless with Diplomatic visas. And even if you could come here, you face a mandatory 14 day quarantine.
The consulate just announced they will reopen June 1st with very limited services. No mention was made about visa interviews restarting yet.

The best thing to do is have your fiance' call ANA in HCMC and ask them, they will know the current rules for travel. Many businesses are opening back up as of April 22 and May 1st, but still subject to the government issuing new restrictions.

I know you only need one year, but once you get the code, get all three years just in case. At least if they ask you will have them and having them later at the interview wont hurt if they ask. One never knows these days and based on my past bad luck, I always get asked for more things.

You cannot access many things in the USA without a VPN that shows you are in USA, its the only way I can get through when I am in Vietnam.

Its very depressing for everyone, we are still waiting for NVC also but HCMC has closed all bars, restaurants and hotels until April1st and some provinces have closed everything until May 1st. Also was announced today no entrance into the country for pretty much any country. AESEAN countries have a mandatory 14 day quarantine but all other countries, Visas have been canceled to enter, except for special circumstances.

She needs to go to her provincial city capital and get a Judicial clearance, my Wife got hers in Bien Hoa since she is from Dong Nai province.
Took her 3 weeks to get it, is an official record of where she lived since 16.
