Mysterium reacted to Cathi in Upcoming USCIS fees increases and changes on AOS
Another reason why the CR1/IR1 is the superior visa. The fees for a K-1 are astronomical.

EAD and AP are optional.
More reasons for the K1 not normally being a good option.

Mysterium got a reaction from yuna628 in Why do you love your significant other?
I found him in the most unlikely place when I wasn't looking for anything specific. He is one the kindest and gentlest people I've ever met. He doesn't let bad circumstances taint how he sees the world. Always optimistic. We continue to choose each other every day for 5 years despite 9000+ km between us (hopefully soon to be closed!). I also love that he stays humble no matter how much you compliment him.

Mysterium got a reaction from Inveigh in Is beneficiary's birth certificate required for K1 Visa?
It is required when you get to the interview stage
What country are you from? If you go to your country's US embassy website they should have a list of where to acquire original documents and where to officially translate them. My country didn't require a translation and yours might not too

Mysterium reacted to IWander in Purchasing plane ticket before having visa in hand
I wouldn't. Even a reliable Consulate such as Manila can't be trusted. They delayed my wife's visa by more than two months which was past our original planned departure date.

Mysterium got a reaction from Chancy in Can we get quick results from the K1 Visa application?
Unfortunately, this process can take even up to 2 years until you can be together. There's nothing you can do except wait and communicate with your partner constantly in order to shoulder this weight together.
My fiance is the one for me so I would gladly wait to go to him as long as it took. What are 2 years compared to hopefully a lifetime of happiness?

When my now husband was my fiance, and we lived half a planet away from each other, we made the best of the time apart. We dated, using Google Earth to find destinations where we could "meet" and explore together. We've "travelled" to so many places, together! We had dinner/breakfast dates, wrote a song together. You can play games, and watch movies. You can read books, together.. The "happily ever after" is so worth the wait!

Mysterium reacted to ssevda in we can't get visa appointment since April
Unfortunately, we are still trying to get a visa interview date. It has been 6 months by now, me and my fiancé have been checking the website every other 5 minutes.

Mysterium got a reaction from kxp in we can't get visa appointment since April
We are having the same problem. The call center just says to keep checking the site. I can certainly do that, although it feels much like stumbling around in the dark with no idea of where to go.
It's been over a month since your post, were you able to progress at all?

You can be on a death row and petition for an immigrant successfully.

Mysterium reacted to Fe.Ta in Don't understand step 2 on k1 visaguide
This just means that you should create a personal copy of the K1 visa packet for your S.O. and your own records. Whatever you send in your initial submission, your S.O. should have a copy of the exact same thing so they are familiar with the packet and can answer any pertinent questions at the time of the interview.
This is true for anything you submit to USCIS. Everyone on VJ normally suggests that you make a copy of each packet you submit so you have it for your records not only to be familiar with it throughout the process, but it case something needs to be re-submitted.

Mysterium reacted to RO_AH in Dating And Finding That Real Relationship
Unless you are willing to travel, long distance is not for you. If you don't have time to learn the culture in a foreign country, a foreign spouse is not for you. I am living my best life, married to a Pinay for 6 years, started our relationship 12 years ago, 2 children, and happy as can be. I was willing to do the 2 things above.

Your case seems to be red flag after red flag.. So you are now not living with your spouse but with 2 other women? What on earth are you trying to do?

Mysterium reacted to TBoneTX in How To Prove Your Partner Is Allowed To Be Here?
As ongoing proof of lawful presence, yes. Keep a copy of the NOA1 (I-797) for the AOS package handy. If asked status, the accurate reply is "applicant for adjustment" or "adjustment applicant."
I had Mrs. T-B. carry around the most recent documentation for whatever stage she was in.
For the 90 days, it was her visa in her Ecu passport.
Then, the NOA1 for AOS.
Then, the Advance Parole document.
Then, the first green card.
Then, the NOA1 for ROC.
Then, the next green card.
She was relieved to get her U.S. passport, after all that.
