  1. The ball is not in their court. There are people ahead of you who applied earlier waiting their turn. Once the consulate signals that they can take more applications, NVC will send a new “batch”. The queue is based on the DQ date. Nothing is fast in US immigration. Managing your expectations would be best for you.
  2. Thread locked for review
  3. This is a very consulate specific matter. Your estimate of 30 days is unrealistic, I’d say the same for 45 days. Some consulates have a 1.5 year wait after DQ for an interview for spouses of US citizens.
  4. Thread moved from Bringing Family members of USCs forum to Bringing Family Members of Permanent Residents. A duplicate thread has also been removed since this thread is relocated to the correct section. VJ Moderation
  5. Related threads on NVC case receipt merged. Please post any follow up questions or updates here only. VJ Moderation
  6. Yes, that’s correct, they’re supposed to take it.
  7. Morocco is high fraud and has a higher denial rate than other consulates. It’s great that you’re looking ahead. I would definitely wait until the second trip to file. The other reason I don’t recommend filing after the first visit is that even if you do meet after filing now and bring that proof of relationship to the interview, consular officers aren’t obligated to look at it. There are many stories where CO didn’t even ask for it and made a decision solely on what’s provided in the I-129f petition. At my interview, he didn’t take that evidence in even though I brought it with me. If you fiancé was from Philippines for example, I would definitely advise to NOT wait because they literally hand out K1 visas like candy and vast majority are approved.
  8. Also, NVC doesn’t send welcome letters to K1 applicants. They only send an email notice once it’s shipped from NVC to the consulate and the US citizen gets that email. If you want to find out the case number before that, then you need to contact NVC through public inquiry form about 3-4 weeks after NOA2.
  9. *** Thread moved from NVC forum to What visa Do I need *** I think we would need more details on what exactly the previous immigrant case was.
  10. Court No. They do not need your background check, it’s of no value as they do their own checks.
  11. Hijack post removed. If you have a question about your case, please start a thread.
  12. Well said, I feel the same way. I was fortunate that I was able to get a DL pretty soon after entry (NY), otherwise it would have been very difficult mentally to be stuck home, literally.
  13. I’m free to suggest whatever I deem necessary.
  14. Threads on interview wait time merged. Keep all further updates here only and do not start new threads. it’s about 1.5 year wait for an interview after DQ
  15. Outside link to a third social media platform removed. Please do not post such links due to safety and privacy concerns. VJ Moderation
  16. As I mentioned, if your case starts with IOE you can upload within your account.
  17. For the USCIS portion of the process, no, the process is not different. After petition approval (12-14 months), at NVC, you’ll need to show intent to establish domicile in the US and also find a qualified joint sponsor if yo do not have a US based job. Tourist visa is irrelevant. It’s a non immigrant visa that allows him to visit at the discretion of CBP. You’re applying for an immigrant visa which is totally different and separate.
  18. If she already applied to renew, why does she need an appointment? If she was issued 221g after she applied to renew as you mentioned, sounds like she’s in administrative processing. That part cannot be expedited.
  19. Three threads on questions related to CFO merged. Do not start any more threads on this and keep all further questions and updates here only VJ Moderation
  20. You don’t need police certificates at entry or for AOS. Unless you’re referring to individual paperwork if you have arrests or convictions.
  21. As a sibling of a US Citizen it’ll take 20+ years for him and his family to immigrate.
  22. Good grief, I forgot about that form. I got fortunate that it was discontinued right before I came to the US. But the I-485 form under him went from like 6 pages to 20 so that was fun…
  23. Status updates are unreliable and your online status may never update even if they received and processed it. As long as you have proof of delivery then that’s all you need.
