April M got a reaction from EM_Vandaveer in I have been waiting for almost 7 years for i751 approval
I did not have to be at my husband's interview. I don't know why he would have to be at yours? I'm confused about this. My husband had to go to another physical and interview twice and a long time between because of Covid. We just got him there and gave the papers they wanted and everything was fine. What do you have to loose by following through, you already spent 7 years waiting. Go for it. Get it done.

April M reacted to Diane and Chris in I can't pay the USCIS green card fee! Need help please ASAP
If paid either before or after he travels, he will not have the green card in hand when he arrives in the U.S. His visa is what he needs to enter. The green card will be mailed later.

April M got a reaction from Marthaeu in Long wait for interviews CR1 IR1
Ask for the immigration liaison, they will assign one and then they have you file out a form to give them permission to view your case. We did everything through email. If the time was getting to long I would just email and ask for an update. I always talked with the liaison and the embassy to keep in touch with them. If they say they are busy that is ok but the case is still in progress and the next step is to be done. It is ok to ask for information and to find out what needs to be done next.

I think so but I would just email them like I did our whole journey. Just what I think.

@Ayrton is exactly correct. I am in the same boat. I called the IRS and found out that the script that they wrote to mass process the first stimulus did not know how to process a joint return where 1 spouse had an ITIN number. She told me it is an advance tax credit for the 2020 tax year and if you do not receive it, you will get it when you file your 2020 returns.
A side note, I did get the second stimulus.

To file married filing jointly, he will choose to be treated as a resident for tax purposes for the whole year.

1. I am wondering the same things. I need answers. What health insurences are except able? Or should I ask which are not except able? I can find many, even one with my employer for my husband but is it good enough to satisfy? How do I know? What are the guidelines (rules) that are clear enough to understand?
2. As for the tax credit which I do not want to over Shadow the insurance questions, If my husband had a social security number in 2020 I can ask for the credit on my taxes but I don't know if they will give it considering there is a rule from the past that states the person has to be living for 6 months out of the year to claim anything. Does that rule disclude him then? Or it does not matter as long as he has a social security in 2020?

April M got a reaction from SammyMiami in South Africa CR1/IR1 Visa Filers
I thought I answered this already but it came to me again.
Our more documents they wanted were excepted and all that needs to be done is to issue the visa. Our case is mission critical and they keep saying we are next. So we wait. As soon as they contact us we are all set to go.
I am not happy with all the circumstances we have to go through as a couple because they are keeping us waiting. And all the while when many couples are being reunited.
We have prevailed and done many good things while waiting which is a blessing but we are very home sick for each other and keeping a married couple apart is not right. That is why they have visas waiting for couples just like us.
We have worked very hard and continue to as we wait for them.

I looked on the site and it says photo copy
If you previously submitted to NVC an I-864 affidavit of support (AOS): Bring proof of your petitioner’s legal status in the United States (photocopy of a U.S. passport, birth certificate, naturalization certificate, or legal permanent resident card) and their federal U.S. tax return (Form 1040) from the previous year.

You know they can check everything electronically now so all they have to have is a license plate number and or name. Everything is done so fast these days.

I didn’t import it, we planned on importing it later on and just doing the temporary import for now and going to import it soon after I arrive, it just ended up working out that the officer didn’t ask about importing my car. But I assume he knew it met all the US car guidelines because it’s a newer year and a common car (2018 civic)

I just went on line and did a Form AR 11 with the USCIS and changed the address there. You can get it and do it on line.

I feel every last word. Take a look at my review. We were advised some things that helped but still a very grueling process.

April M reacted to Allovertheworld in Who to Contact to Get Some Clarity with IRS?
I filed my taxes via mail in as well, I waited until July 10th thinking they may move the date back to due COVID. My check was also cashed a few days later by and endorsed by the US Treasury stamp on the back.
Last month I noticed my tax transcripts were not available for 2019, I called IRS and finally spoke to a person who said I should expect the tax transcript to show up sometime in December, and it was due to COVID.
Hope this helps
