Yes, Trump Policy murdered immigration but Biden’s open border policy did worse for us and also his policies which leaded to millions of new asylum cases. Which is cherry on the top for USCIS workload.

I know it's so frustrating. I was chatting to an immigration lawyer and he said just a couple years ago, people from EAC were getting their I-751 approved in 8-10 months. Now it says 14.5 months. He was saying that I-751 is no longer a priority for USCIS. It's not one of those forms where they have agreed to a new processing target time. So given these new timelines, it makes sense for them to crank out as many 485s as they can, while not touching I-751s.

I am a little bit frustrated, tbh...
I have been reading here and it seems that, for family- based applications, USCIS seems to be focusing ONLY on AOS... And while I am happy that people are approved, I have already seen two or three cases where they were approved in a very short time (as in, four months...); meanwhile, it seems they've completely stopped working on I-751s! It should be fair for everyone...

SRC filer here. Our processing time jumped from 6-9 months to 10,5 months and I heard nothing since January 19 when they waived the fingerprints. I'm busy with work and I'm not going to be surprised if the 10 year green card won't come before I can apply to the Naturalization in October but deep down there I kinda hoped that I'll be able to hold it at least once in my hand before I become a citizen.

Some people visit too often and even stayed too long in one trip (usually >6mths) so they may destroy their residency tie to the US. I guess this is the case for this guy. Doha is a big hub; immigration officers should know.

Everyone, please don’t trust what an embassy employee says. The valid documentation that you need to travel internationally is listed on the Carrier Guide that I’ve just posted. If you’re afraid they won’t know about it, print out several copies of the relevant pages.
Most international airlines know about the extension letter and the expired green card. Who cares what an embassy employee says?! They don’t have any power whatsoever to decide on plane boarding.

    And your valid passport. Yes.

You can apply whenever you were planning to. 20 days outside doesn’t affect your eligibility whatsoever.

Just cut them a check with the exact amount. CC has always been a gamble. You just don't know when your CC issuer flags a transaction as fraud and pause it. Total bs.

eatphyllosophical reacted to RamonGomez in Payment - Credit card will work?
Agree. If you lose your credit card and need to cancel it, the USCIS payment will be declined. Or there's a chance your CC company's fraud filter gets triggered and declines the transaction. Or a bunch of other things that could go wrong. There have been more than a few reports on VJ of credit cards not going through leading to rejected petitions.

    Send a check.

eatphyllosophical reacted to Ecaen87 in Payment - Credit card will work?
I read so many stories about rejected applications just because they couldn’t process cc payment. It takes a while to get it back. I think it’s just safer to get a cashiers check. Funds are wIthdrawn immediately and are only available to them so no way they can miss it.

I would risk a CC payment (for the 2% cash back) if USCIS processed petitions within a week, and sent them back promptly if the petition is denied rejected like they used to back in the day. It took them 5 weeks to accept our petition in Feb 2021, and I've heard of rejected petitions taking 1-2 to be returned.

Amex have USCIS as a 'trusted merchant' (I personally wouldn't trust them to be able to count past ten without removing their socks 😑) so is unlikely to be declined by them. Other card issuers, YMMV...

I've never had problems with paying by credit card (and having a pending charge from USCIS on my card right now) from the I-129F through AOS and now ROC.

You know right away when they charge your card, you can get rewards from it, it's more secure than a check, and you can't accidentally address a credit card to the wrong person because you're just using their form.

I had no problem with credit card. Probably Amex but might have been Capitol One.
Nice thing was when the charge occurred, I got an alert on my phone  so I knew right away.

We also used credit cards for the nice cash back. We filed in April 2021 and got the NOA1s in a month or so. No issues with the CC payment. This was Citi.

I did not submit any pictures or affidavits with my ROC and got approved without issues. Those types of evidence are not as strong as other evidence. If you have good evidence of comingling of finances and living together (bank statements, insurance, lease, etc.), I would not worry about pictures or affidavits.
