  1. Hi Everyone, Became a citizen today in 26 Federal Plaza (NYC, Queens county applicant). We reached there 30 minutes prior to the oath ceremony. Those private contractors who do the security were quite chaotic. Once we were in (10 ish minutes), went upstairs and checked in. They took my green card and then asked me if anything had changed since the interview (which was a few weeks ago). Then they seated us all, around 20-30 people, and they made us take the oath. Once that was done, they called each one of us individually and gave our certificates. No videos, no frills; just plain and simple. Just a very straightforward process--I guess one could call it very NYC-ish! . Once the oath started, we were out in 10 minutes. Saw another group of people waiting outside for their oath. So it seems like they churn multiple sessions a day. Total time in Federal plaza was around an hour. They tell you to check your certificate for any errors before you leave. If you identify any errors, you can fix it on the same day for free; otherwise it's $600 for another certificate after you leave the building. Also they allow visitors; although they are seated in a different part of the room. They tell you not to take pictures but people were doing it anyway. My timeline: Applied 30th December (Queens county) Notication of Interview: 1 May for a mid-June date Got the approved notice at the interview, and a few hours later in my USCIS account I-751 status was changed to approved and "a new green card was produced" (which I ended up receiving two weeks before Oath). Also the oath notice came in the USCIS account a few hours after the interview. It was like a 3 weeks gap between the interview and the oath. All the best to folks who are still waiting, and I hope it goes fast! So so so glad to be done with USCIS!!
  2. My passport requires visa to Mexico. It’s not from a visa free country. I traveled a year ago without any issues, so the rules must have changed I guess.
  3. Hi All, I had recently had my interview, after which my N-400/I-751 was approved, and my oath was scheduled and it'll happen in a couple of weeks. My I-751 status changed to card being produced and based on the tracking number it was supposed to be delivered yesterday. However, for some reason the postal service sent it back to USCIS. I know I could go to USCIS' website and file a "didn't receive card" service request. But since my oath is in a few weeks, and I already have my expired GC, I didn't want to go through the hassle. I was thinking of printing the status page of I-751 that says the card has been returned, just in case if they ask me where my new GC is. Do you think this would be okay?
  4. Hi guys, my status updated with the oath date for early July! The I-751 status is the same.
  5. Hi guys, my status updated with the oath letter for early July!
  6. Hi everyone, I finished my interview this morning in federal plaza (NYC Queens applicant). Applied, Dec 31 2022; May 02 got notification for my interview which was today June 13. Pretty straightforward going in, checked in and made me wait. Since my I-751 was pending, I also took my husband with me. No issues getting him to the waiting room. When the Officer called my name, I asked if I need to bring my husband too, he said "not needed, but if you want to he can sit and watch". So he came in too. Before the interview started the officer told me that my I-751 is pending and my file is already in Queens Office; however, he is not authorized to work on I-751 so someone else will do the adjudication. He asked 6 civics question (name of VP, name of the president's party, why there are 50 stars in the flag, who do senators represent, and a few others which I forgot). Then asked some Yes/No questions. I had indicated "no" on the have you ever been cited question, but I had traffic tickets. I told him that and he said it was okay as long as I paid the fine. I told him i had indeed and he said okay; didn't check for proof or anything. At the end, he gave me the N-652 saying I passed the exam, and my application has been recommended for approval. However, he told me the Oath will only be scheduled once someone in the Queens office approves my I-751. I had taken a lot of stuff with me, such as tax docs, latest mortgage statements etc, he wanted nothing. The interview lasted for less than an 15 minutes. Has anyone had similar experience, and if so, how long should I expect before my oath is scheduled?

  8. Thanks for your response. I feel much better. The training was a corporate training, but it included taking 4 courses over a year at a University and the University gave me transcripts etc. But it's not a degree; just a certificattion in my field of work. I guess with this, I'll just mention it to them during the interview.
  9. Hi All, I have my interview next week and I just realized two things. Would appreciate any advice: 1) I have two minor traffic tickets (one parking and another red light violation; both under $60; paid in full receipt in hand for both. Dont' have the original parking ticket, but have a copy of the red light violation notice). I uploaded the red light violation ticket copy and the payment receipt with the N-400, when I submitted it and also indicated it in my cover letter. However, I didn't say yes to question on have you ever been cited by a law enforcement officer question. Because in both times, I got the tickets in the mail and it was from my city's department of finance. I just remembered the parkign ticket just now, and it was not disclosed; i plan to mention it to the IO during the interview. Would that be okay, or should I proactively add it as an additional evidence before the interview? I don;t mind doing it--just didn't want my interview postponed because of adding a document. Anyone else with experiecne with this? 2) While reviewing my online form, I noticed that in the school/employment I've included my employer. I've been employed for 10 years with the same employer so it's pretty straightforward. However, I had taken classes at a local university as part of my job training (my entire team did it) 2 years ago. It wasn't for a diploma, but a certificate from the professional school of the university. Is this something I need to upload too before the interview in the additional evidence or it's okay to mention it during the interview? I'm leaning towards bringing this up during my interview; but wanted to get a sense of what folks here think. Everything besides these two issues are fairly straightforward--3 year rule, 751 pending, spouse will attend with me, taxes paid etc.
  10. Congrats! How did the interview go? Also what time was yiour interview? I have an interview around 10:00am next month, and was trying to get a sense of what the cut off is for the same day oath.
  11. Had my interview scheduled today for second week of June. Applied December 30, Queens (NY). 3 year rule with I-751 pending.
  12. Hi actually just checked this morning and interview scheduled for June 13! Applied December 30th!!! Queens; 751 pending and 3 year eligibility
  13. Hi, I filed December 30, biometric reused and the status has been actively reviewing since then. What about you?
  14. Congrats! Which borough? I applied from Queens in December and haven’t heard anything yet.
  15. Hi, I filed end of December (NYC too) and haven't heard back anything. I know a few people who applied from Manhattan around the time/after you and have already been asked for an interview in late April/May. It's all so random.
