LaBeach got a reaction from 2022 in Ds-160 social media identifiers
My understanding is that there is a drop-down list to select from, it's not free form to write whatever you want. Assuming that's correct information, the universe of accounts to be provided is limited.

No just use the space provided on the application and keep it brief then attach you proof of the meeting(s).

LaBeach reacted to Dataunavailable in Letters from family and friends
I did this time, we've already been denied in Cambodia for what they deemed "not adequately displaying intent to marry", basically a 221g that the relationship wasn't legitimate. So we refiled and this time I've included letters from co workers, friends, parents that all talk about how they are aware of our relationship and intent to marry. My mother is even ordained and she included her documents for that as she has offered to officiate our wedding.
Will any of it help, not sure. My dad has wrote a letter and since passed away, so I'm not positive if that will make a difference. Since everyone included their phone numbers to call if necessary. I'll be bringing a copy of the death certificate as a precaution.
It's easy for people to say it isn't necessary, when they already have their significant others here, or went through an Embasy that isn't that difficult. So it depends where you're going through.
I'm going through Cambodia, an Embasy that approves around 20-25 K1s a month vs somewhere like Manilla that approves around 300.

LaBeach got a reaction from livinginlove in Birth Certificate at K1 interview
you do need to show either you birth certificate or your passport for Guyana, it is on the checklist. I would just take whatever you have that explains the discrepancy. Also, I would offer the passport as proof of citizenship at the interview, let them specifically ask for the birth certificate. There is a facebook group of about 200 of us with Cuban significant others who are all in the process at various stages including the people who have already completed the process all the way through citizenship, we all share information and answer Cuba process specific questions. If you would like to join, send me a message and I'll send you the name.

LaBeach got a reaction from livinginlove in Cuba - Guyana Filers
This is a great thread. There is also a facebook group dedicated to the immigration process with Cuban significant others. Lots of specific helpful information and a lot of feedback. Anyone interested in finding it please send me a message. VJ is a great resource but is not always as detailed as is needed.

You know better. We just let them live their lives. But we didn't ask them for a health policy at Ellis Island.

LaBeach got a reaction from MoniqueL in What airlines fly from Cuba to Guyana?
She does need a return ticket, Cuban immigration won't allow her to depart without a return ticket and Guyana will want to know that she has a return ticket or a forward ticket out of their country. Buy the return ticket the morning of her flight to Guyana and cancel it after she lands. It can take up to 5 business days (some people waited 6 business days others only 1) to receive the passport and visa back so either plan in advance to be in Guyana for that period of time and buy tickets to the US in advance or buy the ticket once they return her passport.

coming from a country where health insurance is mandatory i don't think this policy a problem, the question is gonna be how they mean to implement it...
i have to say however that its quite ironic coming from the same guy who threw out obamacare's individual mandate

They do? Are you sure about that?
I'm no expert, but that seems highly unlikely.
My packet contained lots of Chinese text. I doubt they had an officer in Dallas logging every line of Chinese text.
If this were really true, why doesn't USCIS instruct us to scan our documents ourselves and submit digital copies? Seems like it would save the government a lot of time and money.

I see everyone is hard pressed on completely missing the point and entrenched in defending hard held beliefs so this will be my final response.
Just in case my point hasn't been clear- telling people not to include things they have and want to include that does not harm their application in any way and may even have the tiniest sliver of being helpful is silly and you folks need to stop doing it. Enjoy the rest of the holiday everyone.

There's no harm in "over-kill" let people file all the picture etc they want to front load their application. The information will be forwarded to consulate and is evidence of the establishment of a genuine relationship, yes they need to bring supplements to the interview to show that the relationship has continued between application and approval. I don't see the point in discouraging people from including information they have available and want to include. If they don't have the information or it would be difficult to obtain, I see the utility in advising them not to expended the energy into tracking it down for the initial application.

Okay. But the USCIS approval isn't really the major hurdle. That would be the Consulate. USCIS maybe doesn't care if you submit photos or not, but the Consulate is going to want to see those photos, so if you don't submit them to USCIS, they'll never get forwarded to the Consulate. So it seems a little strange to me to be recommending that people not include photos just because the USCIS as the adjudicator of the first stage in the process doesn't care about them. It's about the long term process, the end goal, right?

LaBeach got a reaction from lonesurvivor in Social Media Handles
Actually that's not why they want the information. It is for national security reasons. Don't get me wrong they want to prevent fraud but protecting the hearts of Americans is not on their priority list. I'm also fairly sure they will not be searching accounts and using the "forgot password" option to snoop around. They don't have the manpower for that and they would violate multiple laws with those actions. similarly, accounts that are private and cannot be viewed will not have to made public just so the embassy can see it. They are interested in anti-american sentiments and of course if they see fraud they would act on it but fraud isn't the reason for the inquiry.

I always say.. "Just give them what they ask for". No point in trying to figure out why they need it.
If they want your grandmothers chocolate chip cookie recipe... just send it. It may be a little confusing or annoying that they asked, but at least you have complied and are one step closer to getting approved. Which is the main goal.

You are a lifesaver! Exactly the information I needed to hear. I will my put information (the petitioner) in the top left corner and then they'll use the page, part and item number to tell who I'm talking about.
Thanks so much!!!
