You will hopefully get a combo interview. Bring the 24 month extension letter because sometimes ISOs are surprised. The left hand doesn’t know what the right is doing.
The guard might not let you in but it is better than 50 percent the ISO will overrule the guard.

We filed on 11/6/22. Got notice of interview for 12/16/22 today. Holy #######.
I guess I don’t have to go with my husband? Kinda disappointed, but thrilled all the same!

Yeah it is tricky to see on phone. BTW if you click that pull down menu on case status. It show all tabs including documents. Good luck and be blessed

I was going a bit crazy wondering why everyone else was getting biometric reuse and lawfully didn’t say a thing. Sure enough, clicking the documents tab there is biometrics reuse notice. Thanks!
edit: the case history from USCIS doesn’t mention reuse either.

I'm back on this hamster wheel again. Submitted my N400 application on 11/2/22 and literally within 10 mins of submission, the biometrics reuse notice appeared in the documents section. Thankful that I don't have to make a trip to the ASC for that. Now the wait begins for interview date. The estimated completion time for my case went down from 19 months (after submission) to 9 months after the bio reuse notice appeared; though I know this estimate means absolutely nothing.

My wife submitted less than 2 hours ago. We should have been October 31, but her lawyer had challenges with the online N-400.
The online form is rather buggy IME / IMO, but it leads to faster approval so I grudgingly prefer it.

Oh yeah, missed that part.
Expect to get back the entire i485 package with a rejection letter. It may take 1-2 months just to get it rejected. A rejection means no filing, no active receipt date. You will need to file it again, don't forget to include the i130 receipt notice.

You need to thoroughly research and read the guides here on VJ. That is unbelievable.
Even if you had a good attorney, they cannot do anything about "little evidence" of a relationship. They basically assemble and send packets. The rest is always up to the petitioner/applicant.
And what do you hope the congress person can do for you? They can help by making an inquiry to a federal agency when a process is taking beyond stated processing times. That's it. They can't help with your choice of lawyer or that person's mistakes.

She totally must give you what you paid her plus the money for the forms! It is clear she's not just incompetent but clueless.
The checks are not cashed if the forms are rejected; hope you're not paying every time she's tried to refile.

If I fire her can I get my fees I paid her back 😅 and will she give me the money for the forms I need to file back? That was so much money and I can’t afford to just throw it away.
I’ve had such sketchy feelings about her since the beginning and especially since it took so long to get the package together and sent and it was returned but I kept thinking we needed an attorney since we had such little evidence of our relationship.

First of all, you didn't need an attorney. Second, that attorney you got is BAD. Any decent immigration attorney would know that USCIS would never accept a flash drive. Having your package rejected 3 times is unacceptable.
So, fire her and do it yourself following the guides in the forum and the instructions for the forms you're filing.
Your husband will have no issue as soon as those forms are accepted.
P.S.: Demand a refund of whatever fee you already paid.

gabluc reacted to Mollie09 in How bad is ROC?
I filed with a divorce waiver so slightly more nerve-racking than the normal process. It cost money to file, I also paid for a lawyer to help me gather evidence for my specific situation, and collecting evidence took A LOT of time and printing.
I filed December 2015 and was approved February 2017 with no interview. In the meantime I had an expired green card and had to explain ROC every time I traveled, which was a lot, and when I got a new job. I also had to deal with the uncertainty of not knowing whether it'd be approved, so I didn't buy a house when I had the chance, and made other decisions with an eye on having to leave. Mentally, it was way more expensive than monetarily.

It’s not a pain if you can read English and follow instructions. An Inconvenience? Maybe. Plus it costs money. I think a lot of people would say to wait until your second anniversary to immigrate since it’s sort of close- however that’s a decision for you and your husband. Who knows If countries will shut down come January and you can’t fly out And then you risk a visa expiring. There is so much uncertainty in the world and personally I think it will get worse that I wouldn’t change it and I would Have left when the visa was issued.

gabluc reacted to xyz12345 in How bad is ROC?
imo With this pandemic, who knows what international travel will look like in January. It might be much better than these days but who knows? You don't want to be stuck overseas with only 2 weeks visa validity remaining. Maybe get a direct flight to the US or closest international POE just to activate the GC just in case you still want to travel in January?

gabluc got a reaction from Khushi Kaur in 221g- Trends
While reading through the threads I have noticed a thing or two.
1. K1 visas more frequently result in 221(g) being issued, over CR1/IR1.
2. Some countries have interviews for CR1/IR1 with both spouses. I completed my husband's process in record time, without an attorney, and in his interview letter, it states only the person on the letter is to attend the appointment. I wanted to attend the interview, but based on the IL I complied and stayed in the US.
Anyone else, noticing trends of K1 visas in extended Administrative processing more so over the the CR1/IR1 visa?
This is probably the analyst in me.
