Be sure to double check for the current fees as fees do sometimes increase for the new year, so please check. Additionally check the forms as listed above i.e., current version and or edition date. Consider sending tax transcripts instead of the 1040, and W2's. Also consider preparing a cover letter for each form in addition to the main cover letter. Hope this helps in your preparation of your AOS. When in doubt ask questions.

NKDL reacted to Greenbaum in Was in AP - Case Create Date Changed
When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.
Sometimes, it might skip "Administrative Processing" and go from "Ready" to "Issued".

NKDL reacted to Horty in JUNE 2019 K-1 NOA2 ----> NVC
Status moved pretty fast today, from AP to received to issued in matter of hours. Now just waiting for them to mail it. @Greenbaumonce again thank you for all your help and advice throughout this process. Two main things to remember mileage may vary and lots and lots of patience. Happiest day of this process so far.

NKDL reacted to yuna628 in Support for people waiting for EAD?
Like Nat&Amy, despite my husband having a degree and extensive experience, it didn't quite work out like we thought. Even when the EAD finally arrived, employers didn't seem to understand what that was and were scared off until the green card showed up. So it was over a year of waiting and not working. It was hard keeping him positive, getting him to tweak his resume considerably, and making sure he believed he was capable of much better things than a job at a burger joint. Money was tight too, I almost had to forego health insurance even after preparing with savings.
I also had to get him to understand that sometimes it was good to take chances. When I showed him a PT job he was overqualified for he was skeptical about even applying, and once again dejected that he didn't hear back for months after applying. But one day out of the blue they called and apologized about delays - and that he was the only viable candidate for this job. He stayed in that position for six months before moving to FT, and two years later, he's now the manager. While he is still overqualified compared to his degree skillset, he genuinely enjoys the job and makes more than he ever did back home.
I guess what I'm saying is, don't despair, I know it's very hard... but at the same time don't pin all your hopes on the EAD being life changing. There's a chance that an EAD will still be met with silence or you may be driven to lower expectations even further by the potential of accepting low paying or part time work to start. You may have to do a lot of networking. In the downtime I found it important to keep his mind busy. We hiked a lot, took trips, and did a lot of gaming. I don't know what your husband's skillset is, but mine was a programmer... and I encouraged him to continue doing that.

Been away while treating cancer but I feel better now and I am cancer free.
There are a number of different steps in the last days before the embassy issues the visa.
NKDL reacted to AjT1 in K1 visa approved!
So my interview was yesterday, and after waiting and worrying about it since we sent our petition back in February. The interview was a breeze. I plan to leave a review of the embassy when I'm back on my computer later.
As I was told it was mainly waiting. Out of all the stuff I brought I was only asked for; my passport, i134 with employment verification letter and bank deposit statements, birth certificate, change of name deed, police certificates from the UK and Japan, one passport photo, and reaffirmation letter from my fiancée.
So there was a lot of waiting and then I was called for my interview. After raising my right hand and swearing to tell the truth the interviewer asked three questions.
Where did I meet my fiancée?
When was the last time we met?
When is the wedding?
I was also asked about my past drug use, as I told the truth during the medical, and I just confirmed what I had already told the GP at the medical.
Then she said that the visa was approved and I was free to go. That was it.
So I left the embassy and called my fiancée to tell her the good news.
Now, I've got to wait about 10 days for my passport and the envelope that I've not got to open, which I guess is sent with the passport? The only thing they gave me is a CD with my chest x-ray.
So yeah, the visa has been approved and I can't stop smiling!

NKDL reacted to Murphy1994 in Notice of Readiness Submitted to U.S. Dublin Embassy
Thanks for your advice everyone! I’m very indecisive at the best of times and it seems to be a 50/50 split from my research between waiting for the results or sending it right away 😂
I’ll wait to see what they tell me in the Mater. So nervous but finally some light at the end of the tunnel!

NKDL reacted to sol_sol in Courts block Trump rule to deny green cards and visas to low-income immigrants(merged)
Judges have blocked Trump's public charge rule adopted by DHS , but astonishingly it is being implemented by Department of state. I wonder why is this so? Rules should be same for everyone. right?

NKDL reacted to dwheels76 in Everything is terrible and I am desperate for help
I am so sorry you are going through this. You say you want to go home and have no means to get there. You need to contact your UK Embassy and tell them you are stranded in US and need to get home.
As far as divorce and all that. Now first are you sure you don;t want to stay. Seems you are in an emotionally abusive situation and may be eligible to file for VAWA (Victims of Abuse Womans Act) and file on your own.
Call around to free legal aid clinics and check out the Catholic Charities they have assistance programs around to assist being with legal and immigration matters.
And Unfortunately to your point you think you are illegal if you have been her more than 90 days and you haven't filed your AOS then you are out of status.
Please be safe and if need be go to your nearest Woman's shelter.
