Was in AP - Case Create Date Changed

k-1 visa Had interivew 10/16 - was in AP in Kiev but case status stayed on Ready. no updates to case except on 10/31 when i inquired with emabssy.

wake up this morning - check status - case was ready but case was updated today

Check an hour later - in Adminstrative Processing

1 hour after that  - new case created date  to today and it changed from Immigrant to Non Immigrant visa. Still says in Admin Processing

Thoughts?

Thanks for this. I googled it and found some other threads on vj. I am cautiously optimistic that the visa will be issued soon. I am happy that they have at least touched the case and the fact it changed to non immigrant makes me feel even better

even more interesting, in the dropdown box on the ceac website- i chose the non-immigrant option

chose kyiv ukraine

put in barcode number from the DS160

and the case pulls up that way as well.

When the Embassy is ready to issue a visa, it will change to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application"; at that time, you will know that you are a few days away from getting the visa. It will go from "Immigrant Visa Application" to "Nonimmigrant Visa Application" status and then your visa changes to "Ready" ==> "Administrative Processing" ==>> "Issued" status as well. These steps sometimes transpire over a day or even a few days. Some smaller Embassy's it happens within hours.

THank you it turned to Issued today. So visa is approved. What a process

Yes it is a process. We are sometimes are own worst enemy. We overthink the process when it really isn't needed. There are tools to use to help with your expectations and it comes down to knowledge. The main thing is don't expect so much and your expectations won't shatter when they are not met. IMHO.
