I believe we were always able to access the DS260 after submission

I think when you sign in as Applicant you can see certain info and if you sign in as Petitioner you cannot see the DS260 - I could be wrong but worth trying to log in with the other settings.

I feel ya, but stay hopeful, it's coming!! We'll get our dq's! We're February 3rd.
Even if it's next week, that's okay. 🤗

PoojaCh reacted to Naes in So you're supposed to die alone? (COVID-19)
If I was dying because of Coronavirus, I wouldn’t want my family anywhere near me nor in any of those flights which is basically where it can get into their system from an asymptomatic patient.
I’d rather die alone and say my goodbyes on skype.

My dear VJ family ,
it’s with a lot of pleasure that I announce I have been APPROVED !!!!!!!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉
visa interview this morning in Paris embassy 🙂
Everything went smooth
a lot of questions , and they let my husband come in as he is usc and asked him questions .
No questions about DS540 but officer told that it can happen at the POE and to bring proof of health insurance during the travel just in case if the officer at the POE ask for it .
finally , it happened !!

I consulted my lawyer about the need to fill out the DS-5540 Public Charge Questionnaire, and from his expertise, he's recommending all his clients that are involved in consular processing to fill this out prior to their interview and to have it readily available in case the immigration officer has any questions about your prospective health insurance. Now, he still seems unsure about the completeness of the form since a lot of questions are redundant. For now, he advised us to acquire international health insurance for the beneficiary as evidence that you are insured at the time of arrival. Hope this helps.

Same here, we don’t know how to prove it. My husband will purchase his own insurance once he’s here, but every company I’ve asked said he can’t purchase it before coming here, so I have no idea what to do to show that he will!

CR1 visa is to be with your spouse. And the beneficiary can work in the US or not work it’s upto them so they will not ask to apply for H1b if he/she wants to work. The only concern for them is that the beneficiary shouldn’t be a liability when he/she arrives in the US and having a degree or any skills is beneficial because that person has the skills to get a job and not rely on public fund. If you have sufficient income and prove that the beneficiary is covered then I don’t see a problem. This is just my assumption.

Hi everyone, this morning I emailed our consulate (Stockholm) to see if they are requiring DS5540 at interviews, even if DQd before Feb 24 and here is their response, they are requiring it unless it has already been collected by NVC. Even if you were DQ before Feb 24 I would bring DS5540 to your interview just to be safe and contact your consulate to see what they are requiring you do to for it

Seeing that this a Public Charge questionnaire, they want to know your employability. I would definitely mention your degree and profession. Ie: Law degree; lawyer (attach license number and diploma).
