3 years from the “Resident Since:xx-xx-xxxx” on your Green Card

So she’s happy to consent to a medical, let them see her birth certificate, give them her birthdate, full name, address, email address, provide her passport number and possibly credit card details (depending on how she intends to pay the visa fee), have her photo and fingerprints taken but is worried someone might hack her Facebook account? 
 
Hmm that makes perfect sense. What exactly does she think the government is going to do with her Facebook account that will cause more damage then anyone could do with the information that she did provide? 

I get not wanting to disclose information unless required, but keep in mind passport numbers, addresses, DOBs, work and travel history, SSN (later), etc. are just a few items that must be disclosed in the process. Social media usernames are at the bare bottom of that in terms of risk of identity theft.
Edit: And photos, biometrics, etc.

“Cruel”? You as an immigrant make that choice. If anyone is being cruel, it’s up to the immigrant to consider the ramifications of their decision and how cruel they may be to who they are leaving behind. Show me where in the constitution it says that any immigrant automatically gets the right to bring the rest of their family with them? What a sense of entitlement. It’s attitudes like this that turn so many people against the notion of chain migration in the first place.

So your wife's daughter used a B2 to 'visit' the US and then decided to be selfish and abuse the terms of the visa by staying in the US, and now the son wants to just 'visit' as well?
 
Yes right, nobody believes that, it's pretty clear what's going on. He won't get approved and rightly so.

You can invite anybody. But your invitation has nothing to do with his visa application...he needs a reason to leave the US, not really so much as a reason to visit.

this would all have been avoided if he had just paid his fine at the time. Yet another case of people thinking they can evade what they need to do legally and then it comes back to bite them when immigration enters the picture. It’s nice of you to want to help but I don’t really have any sympathy for him. 

I guess this is one way to keep yourself busy while you are stuck in AP....
 
 

I would not suggest this.  At the beginning of the interview is where he is immediately sworn in that everything he is about to say/everything on the application is true and correct.  THAT'S when he needs to speak up to make the correction---not when the interview is nearly complete after all the tests/signature.

Almost everyone that has answered sympathized with her situation (including myself) but I think that more than moral support this is a forum where you get very valuable and precise answers about what was done, why and how to do it better for next time. Explaining to the OP how the process work is the right answer and will be more helpful and productive in the long run. Focusing on the facts is actually key as that's how it is done by the Consular Officers, Adjudicators and the whole system in general. They analyze and weight Facts and make decisions based on that.

Reminds me of a CO who told her story about arriving at a  new posting, so common for the usual suspects to book an appointment hoping the newbie will issue them a one way visitor visa.
 
So this guy comes in, has multiple prior applications, different jobs, different addresses etc etc.
 
So he is refused and is all indigent and his past discrepancies are mentioned, takes umbrage and says well this time I am telling the truth!

We did the same in Colombia so my wife could travel to the US and meet my family over Christmas. My wife was waiting for the I-130 and CR1 visa to progress and we applied for a tourist visa. They denied her on the spot for a tourist visa and the consular officer chuckled and said she has to wait for the CR1. The chances are extremely low or non existent from a country like Colombia or the Philippines. Right on the DS 160 is asks if you have any denials or other immigration proceedings to disclose and you NEED to disclose any other immigration proceedings because if you don't it could cause you to not have the I-130 approved. Save the money and just wait it out for the I-130.

Decision on what? They will not need to make a decision because a decision is already made. There is no sign of abandonment unless he does so himself.
 
This is not true. A green card holder can surrender their green card. Here is the official steps..https://www.uscis.gov/i-407.
 Another person (be it spouse or other relative) does not have the legal authority to cancel a person's green card when it has been approved and issued. What they can do is notify immigration of fraud. And fraud requires substantial evidence to back it up to have the green card revoking procedure to begin.

And this is where you went wrong. How do you know this? You claimed we are the ones speculating speculating in one of your replies but here you are speculating. How do you know he will not return next week? How do you know he will not be knocking on OP's door with flowers saying he made a mistake because the whole process intimated him and he was homesick? In two years you, nor any of us, will know where he would be.

We know you are trying to help but what you are saying is not entirely true. 
 
First, she would have to PROVE that he abandoned his residency status and is NOT SIMPLY VISITING HIS FAMILY. Just because he is not here today does not mean he can't return tomorrow and continue his residency. A resident can stay out of the US for 6 months or more so for her to simply call and say he abandoned his residency would not merit anything unless there is substantial proof of fraud.
 
The green card is his and she has no control over it. He can continue being a resident of the US without her. We see it all the time.

With the Cuban Adjustment Act, because she entered legally (that's the part changed after Obama repealed wet foot dry foot), she can adjust on her own after being in the US for a year and a day. So it's a gamble.

Completed walk in Biometrics yesterday 6/28/2019 (appointment was for 7/10/19) and today received the updated "We reviewed your Biometrics"
Case Completion Time went from October 2020 to September 2020
Waiting Time went from 16 to 15 months.
I'm just hoping that they start doing the workload balancing they announced soon, I'm in Miami but will gladly go to Orlando if need it to speed up my process.

Well, I guess it depends on the location and maybe some other mysterious reasons....lol.
It will show up sooner or later, even though I really want to become a US Citizen I will try not to get desperate and impatient....just got out of the i-751 process which was and is very stressful for everybody.
At least this process doesn't interfere with our daily life and ability to work and travel as with the ROC still pending.
