From what I understand, they pick potential jurors from the DMV database. The summons will probably have a questionnaire asking if you are a citizen and obviously, you need to answer "no". I think you'll still need to go to the court and prove that you are not a citizen to the clerk and it should be fine after that.

"applying" for a lottery does not mean "applying" for visa. If he filled out a visa application, submitted it, paid for it and etc. then you should yes. If not then not.

Also, the USCIS CS line is often called the misinformation line. Usually they have barely any clue what they are talking about since they don't have a lot of insight.

NJI751 reacted to EricInPS in Make Certain That USCIS Has Your Proper Address!!!
I posted this in the February 2017 Filers Thread but figured it could help everyone:

My friend received an email updating her that her card was delivered today, only it wasn't. Tracking it though a visit to the local Post Office showed that it was delivered TO HER OLD ADDRESS! Now, she had changed her address online almost a year ago and received an email verifying the change. Two months ago, when we went to a Fast Pass appt for the passport stamp, I purposely asked them to read back the address on file, and it was, indeed, the correct one. And yet, they still mailed it to the old address.

If you have changed your address at any time during the I-751 process, make sure that the only address they have on file is the correct one. Luckily, we were able to snatch the envelope out of the mailbox at the old address. A possible felony, to be sure, but one that I was happy for her to commit.

Very suspect and left wing article. The initial photo showing 'hundreds of thousands' of people protesting US Immigration law shows at best a few thousand. Then the whole tone and quotes of the article is 'cause and effect' or more important...conjecture on who they interview. (Left wing politicians)

You can apply for naturalization under the 3 year rule before ROC is complete. They will adjudicate the I-751 and N-400 together.

Why fix the process when you can just candy crush some more and kick the can down the line eh?

So I guess this means my husband will receive a new NOA1 for his I-751. Man the USCIS sure does hate trees.

~~I was watching the thread in hopes the OP would see and understand the advice given and ask for help. Sadly that is not the case. The OP does not want to answer some questions asked, and does not seem to want the advice given. It seems all the advice that can be given has been given. Time to reread the thread and act on what has been said. This thread is now locked and is not to be restarted.~~

USCIS is correct in that you were not considered a child due to your age.

The N400 is the final step with USCIS--it's their last chance to make sure every step along the way was in accordance to immigration law/rules during the adjudication.  Part of the adjudication process for the N400 is looking back to see if the initial GC was correctly approved, thus allowing for one's naturalization to be approved, so not too much of a surprise that they didn't catch it until your interview.

If the person you spoke to was just the regular customer service person who answers the phone (instead of being transferred to an actual L2 immigration officer) they normally don't know much about the immigration process outside of providing generic information.

Can you paste the letter in  this thread (removing all personal info) so members can get a better idea of what they are fully stating in it?

I'd suggest keeping your posts shorter next time. Trust me, no one wants to read that much stuff and it's hard to respond.

Imo you mostly got denied  because they suspected that instead of using spouse visa you skipped the law and adjusted from torusit visa - and they didn't like it. Maybe that's why they required more proofs from you.

There is whole bunch of stuff new immigrant can do to show joint assets by the way.

You sound really bitter but this is how system works.

As for taxes you could have just filed married but separate. I don't think ssn
Would be needed. There is some other alien tax number that I currently don't remember how it's called.

best option is to maintain a close by rent a mailbox place, where you are guaranteed to have your mail. I used a UPS mailbox place and that's where my green card went. I also was in transition from 3 different addresses that year, while I was adjusting my status.

Wheter you planned it or not, it does not matter at this point. Just get married and do your thing. You can not be denied due to preconceived intent.

It is no more a fraud than a marriage is. I have always thought that marriage is one of those things cooked up by humans to obtain benefits in some way or another anyway!

If it's a bonafide marriage with true intentions, I wouldn't consider it fraud for immigration purposes...because eventually ONE of them is going to have to go through the immigration process in either country depending on where they want to permanently live together as a couple.

Hi, guys after 1 year and 8 months and 25 days of waiting. My 751 was finally approved this morning. I wish my husband were alive to see this. I think he helped from heaven. Good luck to those of you who are still waiting. In the midst of sadness and immigration complications, finally some good news, I want to thank those of you who have been supportive of me and my circumstances. I did not get my "card in production" update though. Probably due to my 400, they still have to reject my 400 due to my husband's passing 3 days after the 400 interview. Anyone got the approval notice first and card in production second? Thanks.
