Just got approved my AOS last Friday!
it took a year and was rough road but I got it!
I had my interview last December but got a NOID letter in March. Hired a lawyer ( he did an amazing job and so helpful!) and sent our waiver package in early June. A month later USCIS approved my case!
This COVID 19 makes everything difficult and confusing but I hope you guys will hear good news soon and wish you the best!

My EAD package was not returned. The EAD package I sent included everything minus the I-797 for AOS. To my surprise, I received 3 I-797C notices. The first I-797 states the I-765 renewal was received by the office and is in process. It also states that if I timely filed my EAD for renewal, the renewal is under a category that's eligible for 180-day extension, and if I don't receive my EAD before it expires, then the I-797C is proof for the employer that my EAD is automatically extended for up to 180 days after the expiration printed on my combo card. The 2nd I-797 gives me an online access code (expires 90 days from the receipt date of the I-797) to give me access to an account that USCIS has created for me. The 3rd I-797 states that USCIS is able to reuse my previous biometrics data and it's not necessary for me to appear for another biometrics appointment.
I recently sent in the AP application with the above mentioned requirements and yesterday I received a text message stating they have received it. Hope this helps.

The form instructions do say to include those. I'll just note that for my first C9 EAD renewal (filed Dec. 2018 and approved Sep. 2019) I didn't include them and I had no issues. I recently filed my second C9 renewal (filed July 2020) without them and the lockbox accepted the filing and sent me the 2 receipt notices. In both experiences they sent me a "Biometric Reuse" notice: "U. S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) has received your form and is currently processing your application, petition, or request. This notice informs you that USCIS is able to reuse your previously captured fingerprints and other biometrics. USCIS will run the same security checks and use your biometric data as in the past, however, it is not necessary for you to appear at a USCIS Application Support Center (ASC) for a biometrics appointment."
The I-765 packet should have it's own set of documents and the I-131 packet should have it's own set of documents. Both packets will be sent in the same envelope. "If you are sending more than one case in an envelope, clearly separate the cases by rubber band or fasteners." https://www.uscis.gov/forms/forms-information/form-filing-tips Below are examples of the optional cover letters:
#24 is "DA" and #25 is "Pending AOS under INA 245"

Thank you @CharleneB!!!! You are one of the very few people here who actually understand instead of removing their own personal frustration on someone else's misery. I really appreciate it.
As you advised I won't respond to USCIS and hope they approve the request by December. I doubt I would get an interview scheduled notice because the processing times for NYC Manhattan are crazy! But I know some files are being transferred to the Queens office so you never know.
Anyway, thank you again!!!

Just reporting back because my husband got a job today ❤️ He goes back tomorrow to get his schedule, so looks like he'll be starting this week.
He had been looking and applying diligently for the last month or so, and I think it was starting to really get to him that he hadn't gotten an interview or a serious response. Then, randomly we got a call on Sunday about a job, and today they officially hired him.

The GC Interview is managed by the local offices. i.e. Manhattan in your case. However, the EAD and AP cards are still managed by NBC. So, I hope you'll hear soon about your EAD and AP. Also, you might have to apply for a renewal too as the GC interview timelines are crazy!

Received both my EAD and Green card on Monday and received approval letters for all the petitions yesterday! So happy that the wait and process is finally over Hope all of you get done soon and thanks everyone for being a support system for each other during this waiting period

I got my tracking number! Mine was picked up from Lees Summit too yesterday and I'm getting it on Friday 29th! Probably because 28th is a holiday, but anyway I'm so excited and happy that it's coming before the weekend!!

Also: you need to specify the job offer and the financial loss when asking to EAD.
If you are lucky, it will take a week to get the EAD

20th November :
EAD - Card in Production
22th November:
EAD - Case Was Approved
EAD - Card was Mailed to Me
AP - Case was Approved
No update since 22nd November, still waiting on Card was picked up by USPS update, even checked with USCIS Emma and there is no tracking number yet and nothing on informed delivery, hopefully it gets dispatched today
